***Questions regarding "The Importance of Getting Revenge"? Send me an email at mandybetha@roadrunner.com and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. I know a lot of you are wondering about missing chapters, and I promise I will explain in my message back to you!***

I'm a 29-year-old Marine Designer who likes to write on the side. I've been writing novels for over fifteen years, but have only officially finished two of them. My dream, of course, is to one day get published. If it happens, yay! If it doesn't, oh well.

ON AUTHONOMY:

-I do not engage in read swaps. If you send me a message asking me to read your book, nine and a half times out of ten I will ignore it - not because I'm rude, but because I simply do not swap reads. Life is too short to spend time reading stories out of obligation rather than enjoyment. I read only what interests me. I have never and WILL never ask anyone on here to take a look at my work. I know that the whole point of this site is to promote yourself and your book, but it comes across to me as nothing but spam, so that is how I will treat it.

-I mostly back books without commenting. I dislike writing two sentence reviews that could easily be copied and pasted onto any book, and so for that reason, if I cannot think of anything more than two sentences to write, I will write nothing at all. Just know that if I've backed your book, I've done it because: it has an interesting premise, is well-written, and/or is something I believe deserves to make it to the Editor's Desk.

--If I comment on or back your book, please do not feel that you HAVE to read mine in return. I find that a lot of people on this site feel a sense of obligation to return reads when someone backs their book, but I don't think anyone should feel that way. So please do not feel obligated to support my book if I support yours. Yes, reads, comments and shelvings are very welcome and appreciated - but not necessary if you have little to no interest in reading my book.

-In that same respect, if you comment on and back my book with the soul purpose of the hope that I will return the favor, don't bother. I'd rather have a small handful of supporters who genuinely like my story and therefore never make it to the ED, than hundreds of ass kissers who are just trying to help themselves get ahead.

-I understand this all makes me look rude and unfriendly. I assure you that's not the case - it's just my true feelings.

The Importance of Getting Reve....

Amanda Abram

A tale of one girl, one boy and one plan that sounded like a good idea at the time...

16-year-old Lexi Turner has just been dumped by her boyfriend of two years...on the day she was going to, well, "do it" with him. And to make matters worse, he dumped her for a life-force-sucking demon! Devastated by this turn of events, she decides there is only one way to deal with the situation: get revenge!

Enter Jase Holloway, Lexi's former childhood friend, and adversary to her ex. The plan is so simple: just (somehow) talk Jase into pretending to be her boyfriend for a while to make her ex-boyfriend jealous, make him regret dumping her and to make him come crawling back to her on his hands and knees, begging for forgiveness...

Okay, well, maybe not the last part. But with Jase on board, Lexi is confident she will get the revenge she feels she deserves. But life - and love, for that matter - is never that easy, and Lexi will soon find out firsthand that sometimes what you want is not always what you get - and that sometimes what you get is what you really wanted all along.

Historical fiction is not usually my genre of choice to read, but I must say that your premise sounded very intriguing, so I read a few chapters. I am very impressed with the writing itself - from what I can tell, it's pretty flawless. I could definitely see this as a published novel on the shelf of... view book

I think you've really got a great premise for a story here. Your long pitch definitely caught my attention and had me looking forward to starting it. I do, however, have a few nitpicks, mostly just what the others have pointed out. If you don't agree with my comments, please feel free to ignore them... view book

I haven't read a whole lot of this yet, only because I'm a bit pressed for time, but I can tell from what I have read of it so far, you've got a definite winner on your hands. The premise is original and entertaining. Your writing style is great - the words flow nicely and feel natural. It's no myst... view book

This is such a pleasure to read! I pretty much went through the entire first chapter with a smile on my face. You've got a great main character. I like her relationship with her husband (what little I've read of it so far; enjoyed their little banter in bed) and Louise. This definitely, so far, has ... view book

Your pitch was intriguing, so I thought I'd give this a go. Glad I did, because it certainly has a very interesting start to it. I really like the MC's voice. As soon as I read "sarcastic heroine" in the pitch, I knew this book would be for me. I'm a big fan of first person narratives where the narr... view book
