Time in a Bottle: Women and their Addictions

Janice L. Halldorson

The life stories of nine very different women with the common thread of addiction ranging from alcohol and drugs to food, sex and relationships.

Women know how to keep secrets. Perhaps you know the woman who finds herself digging through the kitchen garbage to retrieve that piece of cake she threw away so she wouldn't eat it or the woman who consistently lies about how much alcohol she drinks, or the woman seeking yet another doctor because none would fill enough prescriptions to kill the pain or make her sleep. Maybe you know her or maybe it is you, and you manage to keep your life in constant chaos and crisis; over-spending, gambling or using substances to get you through the day and into the night, staying in dysfunctional, even dangerous relationships; afraid to change because of fear of the unknown. This is a woman in the throes of an addiction who sees these issues as very very private problems that are to be kept utterly secret, living a life of pain and suffering because she is too frightened to change anything. Perhaps you will see yourself or someone you love in this book and you will no longer feel alone and isolated but know that there is hope and it is out there for the asking.

This is so topical and captures the addictive personalities well. your writing is easy to follow and captures the reader right from the off. makes me feel a bit better about being a chocoholic. great characters.
