Care to swap books with my book "Lonely Mountain Sonnets and Other Poems"?
Dear Sterling, I love that you are sharing from your heart. Your pitch is excellent, so set the hook for me to read your book. :) When your poems draw me in, they make me want to keep reading to find out what you are going to say next. I'm backing your book. :)Could you please take a moment to back my TWO memoir books? Thanks, Susie :) This is information from authonomy (so beware of any other untrue information you may receive that is spam & not quotes of authonomy):"When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved"...authonomy quote."Every time you place a book on your bookshelf, your recommendation pushes the book up the rankings. And while that book sits on your bookshelf, your reputation as a talent spotter increases depending on how well that book performs.
Backed with pleasure! Good Luck!!A look at Sicilian Shadows would be greatly appreciated. Frank. If you back my work, you may also want to approach BJD (a big supporter of my work) for a further read and possible backing of your book.
Mythree favorites so far - Talent (we can all realte to that on this site) Understanding and Someday! You are truly talented and I have no doubt this will get published - and I am not a big fan of poetry but if I was it would be these sort of poems so beautifully and simply written to the every man! BACKED without hesiation!LizThe Cheech Room

Has a rap kind of feel - backed, barry (little krisna and the bihar boys)
Good luck with this. Not my type of work, so I have no suggestions on how to improve, but you clearly have good imagination in this. Backed. Colin
I enjoyed your poems, which I have backed. I would only say that you may like to think of adding a few more tags, but apart from that, I wish you all the very best with your book. Poems are so personal yet they can truly touch another person as we relate to the words.Warm regards,Manolya- Love in No-Man's Land
There is some really good stuff in here. BACKED Then I'll keep it on my WL and dip in from time to time.Ian GoslingLyimg To God
Poems are deep thoughts, hard to write some say. A beauty of verse that just won't go away will make it to the top one fine day.
These are awesome. Honest and thoughtful. Poetry is tough. I've been a musician for 25 years and haven't written two sets of lyrics worth a crap.Bravo!Backed,Dan-Eunice Stubbins, among others...
They may be poems but still throw both pitches into the forums and have people help you out with it. I am SHELVING in advance. I can use your comments on my book when you get the chance. Cheers! JC The Obergemau Key
Wow... I can totally relate to your first poem.
Read all the ones with a number 7. My ambition one day is to write some epic poetry, a bit like Keats or Byron. Well, you do not write like they do but they were considered the bad boys of their own day. It would be nice to think that in the future some scabby schoolboys will be cursing your name as they have to write an essay on your use of metaphor! Good luck with these, Jim D Serpent's Blood
Some of these poems read like eminem raps. That's good eh?Very emotional. I like these kind of poems. If ever I am upset or feeling fragile, I turn my hand to a poem. Great stuffOn my shelfSueA Boy Called George (please take a look if you have time)
Very difficult to offer critique on poetry and always very subjective. Some lines spoke to me, others had little or no meaning for me. The metre didn't work for me most of the time. However, a lot of it I really liked. Backed for that reason. I don't know what the market is for poetry but maybe you should think in terms of an audio book release.
Hi Sterling! Wow, your poems are stirling! :-) Poetry is hard to sell - I mean, who walks into a bookstore and walks out with a book of poetry nowadays? Still, for the publishers who do make and sell some poetry books, you definitely have to get your work read by them. Whether it's direct submission or through an agent, get your material read by them. It is very inspirational and moving work my friend. I particularly loved your poem 11, "Understanding". I sometimes see the world that way too - let's both do our best to change things for the best, and perhaps that can be achieved through our respective writings! :-)Yours Truly,Kevin WongAuthor of Heroes of Destiny
There's a sense of performance here. I can imagine a breathless young man standing close to the edge of a low stage, leaning out over his audience and saying this stuff in staccato bursts.A lot of this sort of poetry is being performed all over the place in pubs and cafes, so I wonder if you shouldn't take it on the road.I generally don't back poetry. I studied it, and I think it's pretty-well all been done, but I have seen a resurgence of interest in this particular art, and there's an honest intent and an innocence behind all this that is rather charming.Backed, and the best of luck,Adelie High (Naming Names)
You know, I have always said I'm the worst judge of poetry, can't write it...can't judge it. My son writes poetry and although I love his stuff...and he wants me to edit, I can't for that reason. However...I was drawn to your work because it reminds me of what my son writes, and I think he's really tallented. I'm going to back this! Godd luck to you.BD NelsonAbigail's Cries
