Beatrice Bride

Can ghosts be good, or, are their intentions, always a little, mischeveous?

Sometimes in life, we need a helping hand and that can come from the dead or the living. In the following three short stories the lives of three individuals, are meddlled with, or their path re-directed; which ever way, you wish to view it, by something else, something different, something from the otherside...............

Once I’d got to the Goblin for a brain I was hooked!
There is something about this that makes it a brilliant read, can’t put my finger on whether it your style or the humour or both that has made it a good read for me. Got to 2 had had to finish them all. I have enjoyed these immensely. – Good luck!

This is such an entertaining read. For some reason, I was expecting a comedic tale. But there is so much more to it than that. Told with joy, pain and honesty and a lovely sense of humour, this is just a book that I feel deserves to be out there. I read your three chapters and the time just flew. I found nothing to nitpick so I'll just offer my congratulations.
Good luck and backed

Hi Beatrice, I enjoyed Inflatable Bats. The narrator’s dialogue with the psychic was funny and the voice is a puzzle, something that a person wouldn’t want to tell many people about. Her flair for Halloween leading up to the man in the black car is a little scary at the end when it becomes clear that she’s been leaning on the voice. A spirited telling. I read your first two stories and they are well written and well paced. I really like your use of the first person narrative and how you explore the characters' thinking process and emotions. Your finely crafted short stories are a pleasure to read. Backed.

Welcome aboard, BB. This website will improve your writing craft, if you allow it. I'm a bit of a pitch doctor, having read thousands of pitches in my time on this website, so I want to share my insight here with you. You have to think of your pitches as your sales tool to grab the casual reader's eyes. The short pitch works. The long pitch needs to be expanded upon, show more of a mini story arch, end with a question to pique your readers' interest. Perfecting your pitches is how you climb in ranking to gather more exposure and comments to better your novel. The writing is good so I am SHELVING you.

Though I have been a very active member for over a year and have the most commented book on the website, I can still use your comments on my book when you get the chance. Every little bit helps. Cheers!

Dear Beatrice, I got so excited when I saw that you had backed, "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not." :) Thanks so very much. :) Since I have already "backed" your book, I will put your book on my "watchlist." Could you please take a moment to "back" my completed unedited memoir version? "Tell Me True Love Stories," which at the end tells of my illness now & 6th abusive marriage. I'd be ever so grateful. :) Thank you. :) Love, Susie :)

When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved...authonomy

GOOD GHOSTS
This is a unique set of short stories. Halloween is my favorite holiday – I decorate just like your character in the first story – then wish as she did I had young children to enjoy the holiday with me. So your first story really popped out at me. Your third one equally struck home. I inherited a grandfather clock from my mother-in-law and it never chimes at the right time. I’ve always thought she did that to it to irritate me – but maybe not. Maybe there are other forces out there . . . Bottom line: I liked this book a lot. I’m adding it to my shelf. Dear Beatrice, I love your stories - God said He would give His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. :) Your pitch was very well done, setting the hook for me to read your book. :) Your story is good because you create interest by having short paragraphs & lots of dialogue, which makes me want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next. I'm "backing" your book. :) "When you back a book, it only improves the ranking of that book, not yours. However, the author whose book you are backing may decide to back your book also, in which case yes, your ranking would be improved"...authonomy quote. :) Please "back" my TWO memoir books, "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" & my completed memoir unedited version? "Tell Me True Love Stories," which tells at the end, my illness now & 6th abusive marriage." Thanks, Susie :)

I agree with lynn, you are limiting your market by labelling this YA. The writing and your narrative voice is wonderful, full of vigour and life (no pun intended)!! Brilliant stories that are easy to read and that I can happily put on my shelf.

Best of luck

Apologies to YA but this seems far too subtle and sophisticated to be written for just them.
I love the way you talk directly to the reader and your descriptions are some of the clearest and most vivid on this site. Dialogue sounding the way we speak, and most importantly, ghosts. You begin each of your stories in a way that hooks us. Backed. Lynn
