The Ancient Prophecy

Mohamed Mahmoud

Waking up in the hospital was only the beginning of Maya Montgomery’s nightmare. What happens next is nothing in comparison.

After nearly falling victim of an ancient curse, eight year old Maya Montgomery finds herself stretched on a bed in a hospital ward and attached to a life support system. She has remained alive; however, her near brush with death begins to seem more appealing as her survival renders her fate to become worse than death. Her parents are dead, leaving her nothing but a mysterious artifact locked in her grasp and a long past of adventures and secrets to rummage through. Strangely, she realizes that she cannot muster any of her past memories, of the passing of the artifact into her own hands, of the killing of her own parents, even though she’d witnessed it all happening before her eyes. At such a young age, she is diagnosed with amnesia. Driven by intrigue and curiosity, she returns to Egypt, after twelve years of the incident, on an expedition to unearth her lost past. But she returns with the artifact that the archaic God of evil, Seth, is lusting to acquire. His previous attempts at obtaining the artifact were futile, even though it had driven him to kill his very own brother.

This was simply GOOOOOOD. You pulled me in from the onset with the scent, and that small hook was rewarded, but not without setting up new things to keep pulling me along. Love the character! The flash back was well handled. You know how to submerse the reader in the story. This had a dark feel from the onset--just my kind of story.

I love anything to do with ancient prophecies and lost things and this book promises all of that. The opening is brilliant, tense and tells the reader something is happening. Well and written with excellent descriptions this was a joy to read. Backed with pleasure.

This is awesome. It's the kind of book I would buy in a store, i love adventure mixed with history and ancient curses. You hook the reader right from the beginning and it was hard to stop! Nicely done and good luck with it!

Only read the prologue and some of chapter one. Liked it immensely and think it will do well on this site. Backed. Gordon - The Harpist of Madrid

Good flow to the story and good character development. Creative idea for your premise and handeled well with controlled writing. Dialogues work well.

You have written a very interesting and unique historical storyline, which I do like, and created a most memorable main character in Maya. The dialogue is realistic and well written and the pace of your story flows well. All of this along with your descriptive writing makes your work a pleasure to read. Backed.

An enjoyable read and very accomplished writing, fine dialogue and mostly very engaging. Not my genre if I'm honest but then this matters little since your command of subject and authorative tone shine through.

Dear Mohamed

I have started to read your writing and must say that it is compelling. Already you have established your animated characters in my head, ( they are not leaving soon) and i feel strongly to back your book now. such talent you have to create a compelling read for me. I also believe your long pitch sells your book well. I do wish to be part of your climb to the top on this site. CONGRATS and I will comment more as I read more.

Please take a moment to look, COMMENT which is important to me, and BACK my book. if not that is OK also

The VERY best of luck to you

BACKED BY ME FOR SURE

Okay, the story move along and that’s what readers demand today.
Good narration (kept to a minimum) but try less “telling” and more “showing.” Make sure you get us into your character’s POV as soon as possible (readers not interested in author’s POV).
The dialogue’s punchy (I like that). Try to convey time and place without you (the narrator) telling us.
Characters need more development. Not necessarily physical description but more motivation (internal dialogue’s great for that).
Overall you’ve done a good job. More attention to grammar would help.
The important thing is that you’ve got a story, you tell it well and I’m backing it.

THE ANCIENT PROPHECY
This is good stuff - historical fiction at its best coupled with the modern day. I really enjoyed what you've loaded on here and I really would have liked to read more. Beautiful prose and excellent descriptions that I could picture vividly. An interesting concept and this should do well on the open market. Backed with pleasure

Please read my new book, The Ancient Prophecy. It isn't completely uploaded yet, but the chapters will soon drift in.
Have fun and don't forget to back me.

Dear Mohamed, I love the suspense in your story & I hope I don't have nightmares from chapter 8 - quite scarey - imagination? or evil spirits? I'm not glad I'm not Maya. :) Your pitch prepared me for her amnesia & I was hoping she would come out okay. :) You have nice tight dialogue & paragraphs, providing a smooth read. :) I've backed your book :) - could you please take a moment to back my memoir book? :) Thanks so very much. :) Love, Susie :)
