Dark As Light Fails

P A Britton

A post-apocalyptic tale, following a man and a woman across a British landscape shattered by a cataclysm that appears to have destroyed all civilization.

Dark As Light Fails is a post-apocalyptic tale, following a man and a woman over a period of several days, across a British landscape shattered by a cataclysm that appears to have destroyed all civilization and, seemingly, almost all human life on earth. Pockets of people remain – some sane, some not. Realizing that something unexplainable has occurred, and finding his loved ones dead in their beds, the man heads east, while the woman travels north, into empty alleys and forsaken avenues.

Really good. The story is grim and pretty scary. Something I enjoy very much. Kind of like A Boy and his Dog. Ill keep reading, and It'll probably go on my bookshelf.

You have a strong voice and rhythm to your story telling. Well done. However, your dialogue is far too formal and protracted to be realistically conversational. Remember people general speak in fragments that convey the gist of their drift. Writing dialogue in complete, well constructed sentences can only detract from suspension of disbelief, so take care not to let the tendency to run amok. Overall a compelling, engaging narrative. Have not read enough to comment on plot structure, but if you have manage to weave in a plot I can see this doing well with some polishing. Happy to back your manuscript.

High anxiety, fast paced, intriguing. Intense story and premise. I think you have a great book and you have written it extremely well. This will stand up and I would compare it to a Steve King story. It is not my usual read but I will read as much of your book as you will make available. I will full star and back your book. Let me know what you think of "Just Out of Sight". I hope to be on your bookshelf soon.
