Epilogue
The sound of bodies crashing to the floor woke Edward and Mary Ellen with a start.
‘The doctor told us what happened and to expect you,’ said Edward, rushing to Kay’s side.
‘Isabella’s dying,’ cried Kay as she handed the child to Edward ‘we have to save her, without her I can’t live.’
‘She’ll be fine,’ he tried to reassure her ‘Mary Ellen has sent for the doctor, he’s on his way.’
‘You will look after her won’t you, and give her a new name….’
‘Of course we’ll look after her,’ he said smiling ‘I think we should call her Kay after you.’
‘I would like that very much,’ said Kay as she leaned over to look at the still body of Abraham Lancaster.
He’s dead,’ she sighed with relief, ‘I can’t believe its over, but what are we going to do with his body,’ she asked breathlessly.
‘You let us worry about that,’ said Edward, leaning across to have a examine Abraham just to make sure that he was dead, ‘I would love to know where he came from and what he was up to, but now we never will, unless of course you decide to go and find out,’ he said jokingly.
‘I would like to have known as well’ said Kay ‘But right now all I want to do is go home.’
