Is That You God?

Mike McGeoy

Most have experienced things in their lives which they call "coincidences"... But have you ever honestly considered that it might be God speaking to you?

Throughout history people have debated whether God still speaks directly to individuals or not. The Old Testament has numerous examples of God talking to people like Abraham, Moses, Noah and a host of other fathers of the Christian faith; and then he appeared to go silent... Or did He? While I would never make the claim that I have heard God "speak" in an audibile manner, I have heard his voice in very distinct ways. Sometimes it has been through a person who he has put into my life. Sometimes it has been through events or happenings that I have witnessed or been apart of. Sometimes it has been through the words in book that I am reading which speaks to a specific issue that I am dealing with at that time. Sometimes it is through dreams or signs that appear while I am awake. And sometimes I have heard God's voice in specific words that come to me while in prayer or contemplation. My contention is that God is always talking to us, but the problem is that most of the time we are not listening. Read about my expeiences and then decide for yourself!

Mike,
Your perception of God IMHO, is very common. How many people do you know who actually talk to God, even though we all know He's not going to answer directly? I believe it's a matter of faith and knowing that God does answer our prayers, it's just that sometimes the answer is negative.:)
I just read a book you may be interested in. The Celestia Proposal by Jane Catherine Rozek.
Very well done and immensely enjoyed.
Any positive literature about God always gets six stars from me.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the backing. I've been reading yours, and have just concluded the visit by some Mormons. I would love to see more Bible references - even though I agree with much of what you say I like to see the Bible used to support your claims. Somethings I'm not sure of, such as God's ipod containing Led Zeppelin (by the way, there is a typo just after that suggestion - "here" instead of "hear".) although there are Led Zeppelin references in Hezekiah 7. I look forward to reading the remaing chapters of your book. Ian

Your book is interesting and well worth backing. However, how do you know it is God?

Never thought I'd do this! But here it is. Read, enjoy, and provide any kind of feedback you'd like. Tell me my grammar and composition are poor (I know that it needs lots of work in that area) - Hey I slept through all of that in 7th grade! If you want to argue about my conclusions - bring it on as well. I'm not trying to prove anything here... just sharing my story and hoping that if nothing else it will make you think -
God Bless!
Mike
