Throughout the next several weeks, Batnu continued to translate the transmissions of the Cube. When he completed a transmission, he would send them to Fleet Captain Jarrak Kiolek. He would approve and send them out to the rest of the Coalition. Captain Kiolek assigned his son, Third Junior Jorreck Kiolek, as the one who would actually send out the transmissions.
When Yu-na saw the reference to the Sok, the Jol and the Ail races in the transmissions, she asked Jarrak Kiolek about it one day. He was surprised that it wasn’t obvious to her. So he told her that his race, the Aelions, and Kyle Denton belonged to the Ail race. She and the Jolanians belonged to the Jol race. The S’Kin and Admiral Westing belonged to the Sok race.
Yu-na understood what that meant now. She told him that on Earth, all the races united after the terror wars to rebuild and to reach into space. Earth had gone through such racial divides in its past. But now they knew just how impractical that was.
The nation rebuilds after the terror wars helped humanity understand each other more than ever before. The AG-Mod allowed people to live and work anywhere. So cultural differences became easier to understand and even helped in the rebuilding efforts.
Everyone knew even before the Sol System government was formed this truth. Although people were different, they were also the same. The terror wars were not about race, but they did show how easy it was to divide and conquer because of race. The people of Earth had committed to each other from then on. Race no longer mattered. Only united could the future be possible.
Captain Kiolek continued to prepare for the final attacks on the S’Kin. He was busy getting Captain Yu-na Park familiar with her new ship, the United Systems Coalition Starship Atlantis.
This ship would be the first of its kind, mixing the technologies of the Solians and the rest of the Coalition. It would have a powerful fighting capability. And it would do well with its main mission – the exploration of the Milky Way Galaxy. But that would come after the S’Kin threat was removed once and for all.
The United Systems Coalition Starship (USCS) Atlantis was a beauty to behold. It was only about two-thirds the size of the Jassakil, but could easily holds its own against that ship. It had the latest in Coalition technology and weapons.
It also had the Solian Multi-Light Speed capability and Anti-Gravity Module shielding. It had multi-layered Zirotanium armor and shadow ship stealth technology. It would cruise within a star system at .999c and could reach speeds of 1024c with the MLS drive.
Not only was it a powerful ship, but its sensors and monitoring capabilities exceeded all others. That would be essential in space exploration.
The USCS Atlantis and the Aelion Star Carrier Jassakil would lead the battles to remove the S’Kin threat. Both would lead the first few battles. Then First Captain Kiala Kiolek would remain onboard the USCS Atlantis as an advisor to Captain Park and Commander Denton, who was now the First Officer.
The Coalition shadow ships had determined which systems would be the most vulnerable and the fleet would hit them first. The decision was made by Fleet Captain Jarrak Kiolek to attack one of the systems close to the home system of the S’Kin Empire first. Then they would assess the action, and attack the home system of the Empire if positive.
They could clean up the other systems later. This would determine the current power of the S’Kin Empire. If these attacks were successful, the remaining systems would be more likely to surrender.
The fleet was ready for its first attack. The Jassakil and the Atlantis led the fleet and star jumped to the enemy star system. They star jumped to the orbit of the home world in that system and took out the main defenses almost immediately.
But the rest of the battle was longer than expected and took its toll on the fleet. They did succeed and removed the defenses and ships of the system. Then they left them under Coalition control with some ships. The rest of the fleet star jumped back to the Solian system to evaluate the battle and its tactics.
However, the people of this system were not very happy to be freed of the Empire. They were S’Kin and were proud of that. They did everything they could to sabotage the remaining Coalition ships in the system and retake their homes. This worried Fleet Captain Kiolek because it would be difficult to hold those systems and still have enough to take on the home system of the S’Kin.
As Jarrak, Yu-na, Kiala, and Kyle were planning the final attacks on the S’Kin Empire; Batnu translated the final message of the Cube and sent it to Jorreck Kiolek to transmit throughout the galaxy. Jorreck got approval from his father and then sent it out.
After just a few hours, several members of the Coalition sent messages to Jarrak Kiolek to stop the attack against the S’Kin and find a way to unite with them. Then he received a transmission from M’yor-Emperor Sekor J’sdon of the S’Kin Empire requesting a meeting to discuss surrender.
This confused Jarrak Kiolek as each message referred to the “Last Transmission” from the Cube. He remembered getting the approval request from Jorreck, but he didn’t listen to the transmission. Instead, he just signed the approval as he had done before and would listen to the transmission when he had a chance.
So he brought up the last transmission. Once he listened to it, he then read it to make sure of what he heard. When he was done, everything made sense. He was actually glad of the peace he thought it would generate.
Even the S’Kin was willing to talk surrender. A word that he didn’t think their language even contained. So he setup the time to meet the S’Kin M’yor-Emperor in a remote star system. He sent word to the command staff of the USCS Atlantis to meet with him as soon as possible.
After meeting with the USCS Atlantis command staff, they star jumped the entire fleet at the appointed time to the coordinates to meet with the M’yor-Emperor. The S’Kin had been well aware of the Solian discoveries of Atlantis because the transmissions were sent over open channels.
When they saw the last transmission, it changed their minds completely on their desire to conquer. They knew of the “Sessco” and respected him greatly in their culture. When they heard his final plea, they knew they too had to unite with their brothers and sisters of Atlantis, their true home.
So, S’Kin M’yor-Emperor Sekor J’sdon signed the surrender document and requested that the S’Kin become a member of the Coalition. He even had the requests to surrender and membership voted on by the people of S’Kin, something never done before throughout the Empire.
The people approved both requests overwhelmingly. All S’Kin ships opened themselves up to complete inspections by the Coalition. All slaves of the Empire were immediately released and provided transportation by the S’Kin back to their home systems.
Their openness to all was welcomed with caution, but they were sincere because of their belief of the “Sessco”. They believed that the “Sessco” appointed the first M’yor-Emperor and ordained him for his position as supreme leader of the S’Kin.
No one knew how long the peace would last, but all were affected by the last transmission. If the Solians could stay united for decades, so could all. The people of Sol would be the example of a more perfect union that they would now strive to create.
