Just When I Needed to Laugh

Sandy Appleyard

When Olivia awoke, I asked her if she had to go pee. She answered "No Mommy, I went pee yesterday".

This is not a story. It isn't fiction. Simply put this is a collection of all the wonderfully funny and heart warming statements our children have made since they could speak. They have given us many gifts since they both entered our lives, but the most precious gift is laughter. This book isn't complete merely because my little ones have something funny to say neary every day and this is an ongoing diary of all those gems.

Hi Sandy, Or should I say, "Ha! Sandy!" The only reason someone would not love this is because they are jealous they didn't do it themselves, as I am. Priceless stuff. I want to hug your kids myself! What a great gift to them and anyone who reads these. You must have an inkwell under your fingernails to get these so quick. Moms especially will eat this up. It should be published. If not, you can start a stand up comic routine, or greeting card/feel good card business. Lots of funny, comforting material. I actually wrote a business email today and spelled it "Mal-Mart"! Luckily a co-worker caught it.
Many worthy stars for your two little stars!

Very touching , very beautiful , even though I am not a parent I enjoyed reading your collection , so lovingly assembled I am sure . Your wealth in love is manifest to all. Watchlisted and starred . Would you be able to look at the first chapter of my novel 'A Buccaneer' which is set amongst Pirates in the 17th century , with best wishes from Strachan Gordon.

What a great book! I have two boys of my own and my great aunt who is in her nineties said when her son was little she kept a notepad in her apron pocket so she could write down things he said. I thought this was a great idea even though I didn't have an apron pocket. I wrote down the things my kids said and I'm glad I did! What you have here is a treasure!! I'm going to back it!

These are so much fun to read! My kids are grown, and I've forgotten all the gems that they came up with in the early years. Good idea to write them down! I could see this being the perfect book for doctors' waiting rooms.
Best of luck with this!

Just When I Needed to Laugh.
By Sandy Appleyard.

The title says it all—‘Just When I Needed to Laugh’.
Well, believe me…I laughed quite a bit on reading this; many of the quotations are typical answers that children give…they never lie or think twice before saying anything.
My wife and I often wish that we had kept a diary of each of our children from when they were born.
It would have been nice to hand it to them in later life—of course we never did.
This book is a very similar Idea and a record of some lovely times that you’ve had in those innocent childhood years and it will be a memory in a printed version for others to compare with.
Such a lovely well written piece of work, Sandy…good for you!
Many stars and very best wishes for your book!

Kindest regards,

Neville. The Secrets of the Forest – The Time Zone.

Just When I Needed to Laugh is a sweet and beautiful book that illustrates a mother's unconditional love of her children and the darling world of youth. I find it really neat you have recorded these events. They are very humorous. It shows the creativity of molding young minds. One of my favorite is Uncle Donald. Very cute. I can see this being very popular to new mothers to read to children to older women to recap the young days of children grown up and moved out. Good job and good luck and thank you for support of The Misery Jar.

Sandy - These are absolutely priceless and a very good way for you to remember what the girls said and were like, when you look back as they grow. If you can add more to it, as they grow then you might just get a publishable work out of this. I say that because there are enough mums out there who will nod, smile and laugh along side you.

Your collection is delightful. It reminds me how we ought to be more like kids. And it tells why grown ups who are more like kids stay young at heart ♥ Loved it! Sandy, I think this should be on every nightstand, first reading of the morning before the paper...

Sandy,

Very sweet collection of stories! How awesome is it that you took the time to do this? By the way, I have a 'sore cough' today, too! :)
