2084: Unu Lando

Rex Eleven

By the year 2084, technology has reshaped Europe into a soulless virtual world. Tylos and Lienar flee this harsh society for the Promised Land.

Tylos lives in Unu Lando, the official name for Europe in the year 2084. Society has changed a lot since the time when a Parisian pensioner killed by Muslim youths prompted Europeans to create a laic State and to part with all religions. In 2040, the “Religious Exodus” sees 80 million Muslims relocate to Arab countries, 15 million Christians to various “Christian Enclaves”, and 1 million Jews to Israel. When the Israeli Government is forced by its sudden population increase to resume an aggressive settlement program, terrible repercussions follow. Tel Aviv is the first city to be hit in a massive nuclear attack, prompting an immediate retaliation from Israeli silos and striking three Iranian locations, Damascus and Dhahran in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Europe officially adopts Esperanto as its new language and also changes its name to: Unu Lando (One Land). Tylos, a 19 year old orphan, falls for Lienar, a beautiful seismologist of the same age, who introduces him to an anti-Government dissident organisation. Tylos and Lienar flee this harsh society for the Promised Land. After an amazing journey through an ancient pilgrims’ route from Santiago de Compostella to Seville, they reach their final destination.

Dear Kenneth,

This is the best thing anyone ever said to me about my book. I am chuffed to bits. As a mere amateurish author, getting comments like that from an accomplished writer like you is a real treat. I love your life story. Thanks God for people like you who epitomise the spirit of adventure. Just for your info if you are interested to read on my book, the first chapter is rather long because it has to set the scene for the main storyline, which only starts on chapter 2. Grit your teeth and go through the first chapter, as there is much innovation, quirkiness and intrigue at the end of the tunnel. I personally think it was worthwile to do it that way. Best regards. Rex

Rex,
What a dramatic beginning, a lonely jog through the woods interrupted by a napalm attack, before morphing into a simulated marathon run in a gym. Tylo displaying traits such as dogged tenacity, compartmentalized thinking and amazing physical stamina, seems well qualified for the role of protagonist in the world you plunk him into. Certainly, your story setting is of epic proportions offering challenges only an adroit mind can properly meet. Your descriptives are powerful, your dialogue, when needed, apt. Thank you so much for this futuristic read.

Dear friend, Thank you for your kind comments. I might not be the best English language writer around, as a Frenchie, but I feel some of the ideas I had when writing this book were pretty cool at the time. Please note this was written prior to Arab Spring and I was triying to anticipate how the world affairs were going to evolve. I did research a lot every subject I wrote about. Check out the spheromac device used to blow up the Cumbre Vieja. I hope you like it. All the best to you.

It is a great novel and I hope you can enjoy reading it as much as I did. I hope you get to enjoy some good books on this site.
