Does anyone get disillusioned that no-one ever reads their stuff? I mean, I know that I'm partially to blame as I haven't posted anything on here, and once I do I might change my opinion, but does anyone get disillusioned with the rejection from agents and publishers? Am I being a cry baby? Please tell me if I am and I'll be quiet. Posted: 01/06/2012 14:54:32Last Edit: 01/06/2012 14:55:37 by Simon R. Willis

How can you get disillusioned before you've posted anything? Post something and then complain no one reads it. I don't consider myself an 'agent chaser' if I somehow miraculously ended up with one through this site (and they are lurking), then great. Otherwise, there aren't enough hours in the day to commit to my novel, agent chasing and review exchanging. I think you need to take a step into the pond before you can say it's too cold. Disillusion is a choice. Or at least for me it is. I choice to stick by my work. If it takes a year or a lifetime to find readers I choice to keep writing. Every rejection is one less I'll get in the future. Or something like that. My two cents. Posted: 01/06/2012 15:02:11
