'Why is there a Christian' - deleted

I know one or two slightly controversial threads were recently deleted, but why the 'Why is there a Christian in the top talent spotter list'? Over 100 pages of mostly good-natured debate. Unless the original poster came out of retirement to delete it, some spiteful little finger has been stabbing the Abuse button. Pity; although the thread had, I suspect, run its course.

I still had a bit more to give.

I did use the word "Nazi" in my final post on that thread, but as I was specifically referring to the government of Germany between 1933 and 1945, and their policy concerning eugenics, I thought it would be all right.

I suspect that what happened was that the orginal poster came back to delete his authonomy presence completely, and of course all his threads went too. I'm sure (considering the membership of this site and their varied opinions) something similar will start up again soon.

I was just about to introduce the concept of the "finely-tuned universe" too, just to pep up the debate a little.

Yeah I reckon for a theist the fine tuning is their best argument, they need to abandon the lowlands of evolution and defend the hill fort.

Me too, but our worthy opponents appeared to have yielded the field.

I'll look forward to the "finely-tuned universe" next time, John.

Yes, I was disappointed to find it missing as well. Perhaps someone can 'resurrect' the topic? Wink

I wasn't contributing to the conversation but I sure enjoyed reading it. Hmmm...

Glad to hear you enjoyed it too, Ruby and Audrey. I think such discussions help us all develop an understanding of other viewpoints and add to our intellectual resources
