My life sounds like fiction, I know. I wanted to make a book out of it for years now, but the death of my son made me start this adventure. Please take a look, give me some feedback and a lot of help to be able to reach a publisher and help a lot of people. Thank you

Thanks for the support so far.

Hi Christina,
I hope you're well. I just wanted to offer up 3 sound reasons why you should have a gander at Parabolic:-
1/ It's 'awesome', 'terrific', 'fab', 'debauched' and 'very funny' according to some of the 70+ positive reviews on here.
2/ I've been stuck at number 63 in the charts for weeks and fear I might atrophy if left there too much longer
3/ My spiritual guru Prahbuddha Singh III told me in a séance that a lady named Christina would eulogize the book and one day it would generate world peace*.
here it is:- http://authonomy.com/books/35255/parabolic/
Let me know what you think of the prologue & chapter 1. All comments, stars & backing are hugely celebrated in my pokey office in middle London.
Many thanks,
Harry

I am Jack's failure to follow his own 6th and 8th commandment.

1: Thou shalt not take this place too seriously.
2: Thou shalt not place ones book on one’s own shelf.
3: Thou shall offer honest critique and not false praise.
4: Thou shalt not use the star rating system to punish enemies.
5: Thou shalt not create fake accounts for the purposes of insulting your fellow authors, backing your book, or talking to yourself.
6: Thou shalt not spam your fellow authors, or ask for backings and reads if thou are unwilling to read their book first.
7: Thou shall use this site to network and improve their craft
8: Thou shall not spend more time here then you spend writing.
9: Thou will try and read, Miami. http://www.authonomy.com/books/34153/miami/
10: Thou shall not take this place too seriously.

Well technically, I am willing to swap reads, so perhaps I am in the clear. Yet, make no mistake, this is me spamming you in hopes that you will consider commenting on, or backing my novel.

I thank you for your consideration.

Hi Christina,

“Informers and blackmailers, phrenologists and dissectionists, lowlifes and murderers in early Victorian Dublin.”

I’d really appreciate it if you could have a look at the start of my first novel, The Morning Drop.

I’m happy to return the read.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi, I notice that you're new to the site, too. I was wondering if you'd be up for a read swap? I'm looking for feedback on my YA fantasy novel 'The Puppet Spell'. Yours looks great- I love fantasy and dragons, too, so let me know and I'll add your book to my watchlist right away!
Emma

Thanks for that pal.
Did you rate it with stars? I'm not asking how many, it's just that my book doesn't seem to move from way down the weekly ranks and yet there are books on the number one slot with very few on their shelf..can't figure the rating sytem out here.

It's a pain in the bum, all right. Try having a look a few published books in your genre and see what the pitches are like. Usually on the back cover.

Lady Midnight wrote 399 days ago

Honey, on this site you've got to do it. There are groups you can join on the forum. You made a start with your own thread and mine. Keep plugging away, it's too easy to sink into obscurity otherwise.

Chris,
I had the impression that all these different societies were going to be a bit different, but it was just a feeling. Let me know when you do your next edit and I'll be pleased to have another look. I've just done another edit on Wormholes (must be the fiftieth) - people are still pointing out inconsistencies.

Thanks for the message, Christina and glad you're finding lots of things to read. If you want a few suggestions, both of Kate Jack's books are great, Elspeth McGregor's Paragon, Paul Beattie's Filthy Luca, and if you want something to make you laugh have a look a The Zartangs! by Philip Gilliver.
Keep at it, you're only just starting. Don't worry about the editing, it's never over!

Thanks for your message, Christina. Very kind. I've watchlisted Origins and hope to take a look shortly. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on Filthy Luca. Thanks again. P
