Hi Missy
Please forgive me for approaching you out of the blue but I just wondered if you'd be interested in my novel, Swimming Naked. It's an elegiac evocation of rural England, a maritime adventure, and a love story, which explores gently observed truths about sexual desire, both conventional and unconventional, and set at the end of the 18th century. Here's just a few recent comments:

“The richness of detail and deep sensual descriptions drew me in from the opening lines. Thought provoking, not one to skim over”

“It was the sensuality underlying this book that pulled me in and I think it is handled beautifully”

“Thank you so much for the captivating read”

“I started reading you book based on Richard's recomendation in the forum. I must say it is beautifully written”

“There is something so different and haunting about this book. It seems timeless and it flows like a river. I love the chapter titles that relate to water and swimming, so clever. I loved the natural open eroticism here…I'm proud to back this gorgeous book.”

Hope you think it sounds interesting
Best wishes
Toe

PS I'm deeply in awe of your amazing life so far!

Dear Missy, Welcome to Authonomy!
I extend a hand of friendship to you.
Please read a chapter or two of my book, African Adventures of Flame, Family, Furry and Feathered Friends.
I certainly will appreciate a comment, rating (if warranted) and possibly space on your bookshelf for a while. Obviously I'll give similar support :-)

I am highly rating and backing your book. Hope you can check out my friend's book and do the same? That would be Solian Chronicles: Pluto Genesis by MDWS77. It is Science Fiction and moving up the ranks. Please let me know what can do for him.

Hi there – sorry to bother but I am seriously seeking some advice.

I have been on the site for a few days now and have re-written the first couple of chapters of my book according to the tons of advice received so far…My name is Craig Zerf and I currently have 2 books with my agent, Ian Drury of Sheil Land agencies. The first novel that Ian accepted was not taken up by any publishers despite having been very favourably reviewed by 2 best selling authors; Michael Marshall (The Straw Men, The Intruders, The Lonely Dead) who said that it was one of the best books that he had read in recent years, and Meg Rosoff (How I Live Now, Just In Case) who said "I think that you are a fantastic writer. The story is tragic and blood-curdling and extraordinary."

It’s very frustrating so I have opted to put it out here and try my hardest to get some unbiased advice. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my script (or even just the first chapter or so) and tell me what you think. Thanks ever so much – Craig (Zuffles).
THE BROKEN MEN - The best of boyhood friends, Leon and Pete, grow up in South Africa during the hatred and turmoil of the Apartheid era. Like every other white male between the ages of sixteen and sixty-five they are conscripted into the army in order to fight for the continuance of the white regime.
In this maelstrom of Apartheid and war the two friends become the most deadly of enemies. Together they are drawn into a path of death, violence and brutality that spans the oceans from Southern Africa to the United Kingdom

Adding books to your shelf and commenting on books help you establish a TSR (user ranking) quicker. I have updated my novel and ask if you could please check it out when you get a chance. My book is called Solian Chronicles: Pluto Genesis, a positive Science Fiction of the near future. If you back, highly rate and/or comment on, that would be great. I hope you find many books that you enjoy on this site. Thank you very much for your consideration.

Hi Missy and welcome to the site. If you have any questions re this madhouse just give me a shout and I'll try to answer them. I will check out your book as soon as I can - pitch sounds good. If you like supernatural thrillers then my book might fit you. The Angel Chord - three strangers stumble into an End of Days demonic plot and discover that atheistic, hooker-using, guitar playing angels are the world's only hope. It's at number 4 and I'm trying my best to stay in the top 5 for the end of the month to get a Harper Collins review. I'd love to hear any thoughts on it if you had time. All the best Missy and I always return reads.

The stories of sex exploitation and torure she tells him are too much for him to stand apart and just forget about it all. what Bernard doesn't know, Big Daddy can see through Hazelnut's scooped-off eye, which he's implanted on himself, and then Bernard Makes a mistake, his own life will be in danger. So he and Hazelnut will embark on a journey where they meet beautiful Queen, Big Daddy's sister. She's set up The Retreat, a place where unfortunate BD's victim can find shelter, and is waiting for Hazelnut to create the 'Tetra', that's the team that will go back to BD's mansion, fight and, hopefully, kill him. but, as the old saying goes, 'all that glitters is not gold,' and this is what Bernard's going to find out.

Hey MissyLaRae,

As a young author, I'd really appreciate you sparing a bit of time to read the first few chapters of my book.

I’m nineteen and have written two novels, and am currently working on a new series while attending university. I am young, but please don’t judge me based on my age. I’m an extremely passionate and dedicated writer.

Pitch:
Spark follows high school student, Erica Spencer, who appears to live a normal teenage life, dating the school`s best looking boy and hanging out with the same group of friends she`s had since she can remember. However, things change drastically when Damen Mrez shows up, altering everything Erica has ever known about the world. His emerald green eyes and confident attitude haunt her. Even in her dreams she feels a certain familiarity with him that she can't place. Knowing that there's something different about Damen, Erica becomes determined to find out what it is, but figuring it out will change her life. Forever.

Welcome to Authonomy Missy, lovely to meet you!

THE SWORD AND THE PROPHET sounds brilliant! I've popped it on my watchlist and very much look forward to reading it!

If you have any spare shelf space, it would be so great if you could back MISS MANNERS to guarantee its place on the July Editor's Desk!

It's such a brilliant zero-to-hero story and so well written (one of the best I've read on here). I haven't laughed so much reading a book in ages - a real pick-me-up! It really deserves to be published and I can't recommend it enough!

Plus Iman is SUCH a lovely person! And so incredibly helpful (great writing advice)!

MISS MANNERS recently made the Top 5 on the Editor's Desk Chart, but really needs your backing to ensure it stays there for the entire month. Let's support this perfect summer read so it makes next month's ED! :)

Here's the short pitch:

Struggling to pay bills, stuck in a dead-end job and no boyfriend, Anna wants more out of life. Could getting fired change her life forever?

Many thanks,

Hi, Missy : And I can think of no better critics than small boys...smile. "The Sword and the Prophet" looks like a fascinating read! Welcome to the site. Hi Missy,

Welcome to the often confusing but always entertaining world of Authonomy! Can I borrow your head for 2 minutes? I'm asking for you to read the prologue of my book, Parabolic, currently at number 50 in the chart. You can find it here - http://authonomy.com/books/35255/parabolic/

Here's a taster:-
3 months left to live, 90 grand to spend. What would you do? Follow AJ and Bench on their downward trajectory

Meet AJ - he's 26, having a blast and certifiably dead from cancer within the next few months. He's also an atheist, so his hopes for a party in the afterlife are slim to none. He's stolen the money raised by friends for his chosen charity in the hope of living a life before it all ends. This is his story.

Meet Bench - AJ's friend, cohort and the kind of irresponsible wanker parents dread. He's AJ's backup as the pair disappear around the world.

Meet Polly - AJ's ex girlfriend. To most people, he was punching well above his weight anyway.

Meet Matty - AJ's best friend. He's not that pleased with what the guys are up to, but knows that AJ needs to work out what he's going to do with his life, what's left of it.

This is Parabolic. AJ's life story in its tragic brevity. Follow his spiral into debauchery and excess as he struggles to work out how to finish his existence on his own terms.

Parabolic reminds us all how important even the tiniest things can be.

If you like the sound of it, please have a read. And if you like that, please leave a comment/ rate it/ back it.

Many thanks in advance,

Harry
ps - it doesn't help your book in the chart to back it yourself FYI!

Cas Greenfield: writer, broadcaster, musician, artist

Hi there - just extending the ink-stained hand of friendship. If you knew voodoo, like I know voodoo...oh, oh, oh what a load of rubbish...sorry!

I've been on-site for a little while now, and I've found it to be an extremely constructive and rewarding experience. The range of writing and subjects available here seems to cover a broad spectrum of styles and ability, but it does pay to have a thick skin - some of those critics can be pretty fierce!

Adding books to your stylish virtual bookshelf, making oodles of friends, commenting where you can – that seems to be the way to raise the profile, so here I am.

I'm usually around, so it would be fantastic to hear from you.

Anyway…happy writing, reading or whatever it is you’re doing today...all the best, Cas

PS: If you do happen to get the absolutely uncontrollable urge to look at either of my books, here are the links. I’m moving slowly but surely through the ranks with my dark stories, so I could do with your backing now, more than ever…

http://authonomy.com/books/42586/slow-poison/
http://www.authonomy.com/books/42590/bloodstones/

Slow Poison is dark and brutal, Bloodstones is a gentler read, but gets tougher as the story progresses. In the vein of Larsson, Welsh or Niffenegger I have been told. (…but I haven’t read any of their work yet…so you’ll have to be the judge of that…) The books are both complete and completely free to read.

Warning: both of my books contain explicit sexual acts, frequent swearing and disturbing scenes of violence. Please do not read if you are of a sensitive nature or under age in your territory.

Hi
Apologies for the spam, but I would be very grateful if you could take a look at my novel "The World is (Not) a Cold Dead Place".
I'm looking for constructive feedback of any kind, and starrings and backings from those who think it's good enough, to help my stuttering run for the editors desk.
It's contemporary fiction, that i would like to think has a gritty, urban edge to it, which i think there isn't a huge amount of on this site.
I am of course happy to return all reads.

Hope you can find the time.

Nathan
