there was more of the usual nonsense... Check out the Cyber bullies thread..Pat was going on about bullying possibly leading to vulnerable newbies topping themselves etc. Seems she is trying to rehabilitate her image . Sue got Into to it with other people and started calling everybody "cunt." Richard got dragged in and advised Pat that anyone checking out her book online would pull up these discussions and be unimpressed by her relationship with someone who behaves like Sue. Pat called Sue her true friend.
Others said if Sue was really her friend she wouldn't abuse and cuss out everyone just for disagreeing with herself and Pat.
Pat and Sue blamed Richard and .......
then Sue and Pat simultaneously retired....
the rest of us had by then lost the will to live......

Umm....I was joking about the pole...
Any response fromAmazon?

The problem is wall space. There are two sets of double doors
And a single door and three windows.....and a bed. It's difficult to
put a big screen on the wall opposite the bed. But there is a big high ceiling ....so..... And, yes, I am planning to watch David Attenborough documentaries.....and Netflix .. If I had breath to be up to anything else more interesting I wouldn't have to resort to a television...... Hah!

I still laugh when I think about that lace thong. My best friend in England and I were gob smacked by that. I couldn't ask her about it though.....incase she told me! Some things are just too much information. I got a call from the warden of her nursing home yesterday. She is considered sufficiently demented to be a fire hazard, so they removed the stove from her flat. Eric cleaning lady caught her trying to fry bacon in the toaster slots! They insist I have to go to England and sort out what to do with her next because she took five lots of medication at once. Perhaps I could get the, to install a dancing pole to distract her from cooking.

I guess you saw that Sue and Pat left?

I've always wondered how you folks do stuff like that.
It must be amazing to see your work up there on the big screen.
And you just proved my entire case about you being an alpha.
How fortunate for the event organizers/participants that they had you a- vaila-ble to step in and make it work. Everybody was happy
and had a great time.

You can't live life on the terms of people who go around expecting to be offended. Truth is they will always find something or someone to accuse and blame and hate. Nonentities like your hater can only feel significant when they cause trouble because otherwise they have nobody to suck energy from. There are loads of people like that on this site.

My painter is still trying to get over me making him paint the ceilings in my sitting room and kitchen the color of Tomato Soup.
Now the dusk falls like sunset ...on Mars.

He is also flummoxed by my intention to bolt a flat screen TV to the ceiling in the master bedroom. His expression was like mine was when I discovered a lace thong in my mother's underwear drawer. She was in hospital with a heart block ....and aged 85!
Hah!

Robert:
I don't know how Amazon polices their site. Gotta admit I think they should get the squad around to hose away the crap a bit quicker than this! I think you should harness the attention she's attracting to your page ....yes, I'm sure people are watching ..
by getting Capital Offense up there.

@ Vaila: I was reading about the row over Disney sexing up the
image of the Merida character in Brave. They've taken away her bow and arrow. It must be very difficult to raise a little girl in the face of shops full of pink and purple crap. I spent my childhood running through the hopfields and meadows and nobody cared about fashion and body shape. I cut the hair off all baby dolls and nobody ever gave me a Barbie. My dad gave me a telescope
and showed me the craters on the moon. The poster on my wall was of Carl Sagan.

I have a vivid recollection of being 11 and looking at the newspaper on my form master's desk. There was an article in the sports pages about a world champion boxer. The boys were admiring his muscles. I thought he had a nice face. As I left the classroom the master said to me .."he'd bore you to death in a week."
All the way home I was thinking about that....
That master became my mentor. He was right.
Because you really can't fix stupid.

And you can't fix sociopathic.
Healthy narcissism is one thing - total ruthlessness is a deal breaker.

The strongest personality in my childhood was my English grandmother. She was 4ft 11inches.

Before Mother's Day last year my youngest son strung me along saying he had "Something important to announce." . Something that I should be the first person he told...as his mother. That, no matter what Freud said......wasn't my fault.... Because he didn't blame me...... On the day he phoned up and admitted that he now had no doubt that he was doing the right thing "by coming out of the closet....as a Lesbian." Turned out he had forgotten to send a gift ...but knew if he could make me laugh I'd overlook it!

I've been watching "Going Ape" on the National Geographic Channel. They show how humans act just like our gorilla and
chimp counterparts when it comes to being Alpha or subordinates.
As an American, I'm not handicapped by the British requirement for understatement and hypocritical modesty. Being what you are isn"t bigheaded. It's better than being delusional like the pathetic
wannabe sniping at you like a spiteful and cowardly incompetent.
Alpha males have to demonstrate both confidence and competence and the organizational ability and self control to be in charge. The individual concerned has shown their hand and you know to watch your back in future dealings. Avoiding her would be best but if it's impossible then keep abreast of what she's doing
and collect ammunition. Above all, never underestimate the trouble that can be caused by spiteful, stupid people. Be careful.
Good Luck with Amazon.

I expect you have overshadowed many people in your life just by existing in the same social/professional sphere. How could anybody overlook you? You are big, colorful, clever and funny.
And charismatic. That alone is sufficient to trigger rage in an easily offended malignant narcissist. In this instance, that infantile rage has become stalking on amazon. For how bright is a mediocre candle in the presence of the sun? You got on the wick of someone who knows they can't compete and both fears and resents you.

No doubt in my mind you are a Vaila. That's why you understand her ( and Chewy)
Vaila is my favorite character in CO and the plot essentially pivots on Jamie's enduring attraction to her. From the disaster resulting from his trying to impress to chucking it all up for her. ..She is the eternal flame to his moth. In the core of her being she's kind and loyal. That isn't a bad thing at all.

Glad to know the revision is coming along well.
I'm now addicted to Netflix and CO is as good as anything I've been watching. Currently I'm in the middle of a series called Jack Taylor. I don't watch the nasty reality shows.

The illiterate who is trying to hobble your new writing career seems to be an obsessive incompetent who blames you for some minor, or even imaginary, narcissistic wounding suffered.
I reckon you might well have stolen his thunder by simply being yourself!

Amazon can't afford to let this go on much longer because it's bad for business. You know the broken window theory? Once an unoccupied building has one broken window left unfixed it isn't long before all the windows get smashed.

I just saw your thread.....it reminded me of what Christopher Hitchens' mom, Jackie, told him....never be boring!
I reckon you are totally an unconventional "Vaila." But the thing about Vaila is she's never petty, or cowardly, or lacking in integrity. She's authentic and original. People fear her because she doesn't seek their approval and goes her own way.

Now, how's that CO edit coming along?

I reckon that the very intelligent person, highlander, bookworm fucktard is ....your "rabid skunk." Don't know if it"ll help but I hit all the abuse buttons and sent a message to the Amazon moderator.
The stinker has left 5 turds now ...making his intention clear.
It's costing Amazon money in lost sales so perhaps they will act.

Glad you enjoyed the family wedding. My eldest just dumped his lady so I shan't be buying a new hat ....they agreed he
have custody of Lola, their rabbit! ( all my friends have actual grandchildren) On the bright side, Lola doesn't need a college fund!
My son told me to watch the "going back in time" indie movie Primer (2004) on Netflix. He bet it'll take me 5 viewings to understand it ..because it's all predicated on the math. Of course he knows that means I HAVE to prove to him that I understand it.

Just read Ted's review from the Desk. Think it was written by the person who did your Wednesday's One to Watch crit : An underling. The comment about the "Authonomy Editorial Board," (SP?) indicates the expectation that the review will be overruled. The Desk reviews that use the same format as yours all
hand down a no decision.

It takes more effort to post on the UK site from elsewhere. I think it's a brit. Who knows what the payoff is! He is clearly monitoring the response. If he posts another now it'll provide more evidence to bolster a request for deletion of all.

I once helped the kids build a huge stegosaurus out of snow in the back garden. I started knitting a matinee coat when I was expecting my first baby....I finished it when he 19! I saw the press pictures of the stuff hand knitters made to cover the hand rails on the Thames Barrier... and a telephone box....that was all very british....

Guess you have to deal with this pest the way firefighters cope with firebugs in a drought. You hose down the roof regularly, and
stay vigilant. Just remember how long the nut job in Capital Offense took to orchestrate his revenge against Jamie.

I've just been watching "The Tudors" on Netflix but I can't get into it because they lost me when they rewrote history and had Margaret Tudor marrying the creepy old
King Of Portugal. confusing viewers and making it impossible to understand how Henry was picking off relatives. Without understanding the importance of Margaret Tudor's marriage how are we supposed to understand the succession of James Ist and 6th? And wasn't Henry a redhead? And Anne Boleyn had black eyes....not blue.....and Mary Tudor didn't have a wonderbra.
If the second wife called Anne had really looked like Joss Stone, Elvis would have cleaved to and not from her.

I saw what you posted on the thread.
I posted a comment on the Amazon site.
The individual who is responsible for the 4 1* "reviews' ( including the "trash" one) is clearly motivated to damage your credibility and the sales of your book.
I advise you to complain to Amazon.Com.UK.

It's either a dedicated troll who saw the tag -" for brainy people" as a challenge....or someone who has an axe to grind. My money is on the latter.

Been felled by the high pollen count, so stayed indoors watching a series called "Awake" on Netflix. It stars Jason Isaacs as an LA police detective who wakes from a car crash to find his wife has been killed and their son survived. The next time he wakes he finds that his son has been killed and his wife survived. He then has to contend with two realities, never knowing whether he is awake or dreaming. There is lots of synchronicity, intuition and butterfly effect stuff worked into the plot. The writing is very good and I'm impressed with Jason's flawless American accent. Seems you can't swing a cat in Hollywood without tripping over a Brit investigating something!

If you haven't seen it, you might be interested in checking it out.
I reckon it's always good to know what is already out in the ether.

Hello. How are you? I would appreciate to switch comments and feedback with you! Would you be able to do the same? If you want to read the rest of the book....it is finished and on Kindle and paperback on Amazon.com. Proceeds are going to mental health facilities and burn survivors. Would you support? I am so blessed to be able to help others with my story. I hope I will be able to stop even just one person from doing something drastic like I did. I will put your book on my wl and comment:)God bless!Bethany.

Adore that Einstein shares the view of the Desk.
His reviews now pop up and dilute the value of the 3*
All the verified 5* are great.

Couldn't have worked out better.
Yay!

Hey Robert,
I was just on Amazon. uk. I checked out the 'pillar to see the 'Codswallop' review. It's hilarious because the fool has done you a favor: by reposting, he shoved the better written 3star review down so that it doesn't pop up anymore ! Potential buyers will immediately note that he is an illiterate!

'Mary" made me laugh because the heart was constructed from $ signs. Talk about getting down to basics!

I'm afraid I've fallen off the wagon and reverted to dead tree books.
The latest ones just arrived.....the UPS delivery guy was smiling, keeps his job secure!

I was going to tell something - but I forgot it when I saw the subtle message from Mary........!!
Ask her if she wants to buy your book....every little helps you know.
Sales numbers are everything in this game.

Sue just told me I was" thick." I'm devastated, as you can well imagine...with a public pronouncement coming from such an esteemed intellectual. What ever will happen if Mensa finds out?. I'm heading to the liquor cabinet to assuage my grief and thirst with a drop of Madame Geneva. It'll be Richard's fault if the quinine in the tonic water affects my heart. I reckon I'm a victim....it's not my fault... Sue says everything is Richard's fault. because she said I'm just an "apologist" for him. I didn't even know he had a pet gorilla.

I know what it was...it's all coming back to me now ...Leon left the site. His book is up on Amazon - one comment and only 1*
from 'confused." That strike he led clearly didn't work very well because people forgot he was there .....
