BeeJoy wrote 4 days ago

Hello. How are you? I would appreciate to switch comments and feedback with you! Would you be able to do the same? If you want to read the rest of the book....it is finished and on Kindle and paperback on Amazon.com. Proceeds are going to mental health facilities and burn survivors. Would you support? I am so blessed to be able to help others with my story. I hope I will be able to stop even just one person from doing something drastic like I did. I will put your book on my wl and comment:)God bless!Bethany.

Hi Carla
I am currently at No 12 with my Mary's Magic Muffins & Other Tales for Children. I am looking for support of it to take me nearer the coveted ED. I return reads with an honest feedback. As I think it is best to be honest. I will be here for a long time and will support anyone who helps me make it to the desk. Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
Brian.

Hi Carlag, Just a line to say that I am having 'A Bird in a Cage and a Tin of Paint' published next month. I have a publisher that will print it as it stands without the dyslexics writing taking out and in Comic Sans. What swayed me was the Professional association of Teaching Support for people with Dyslexia. Their review stated that they would use this book with their disaffected young dyslexics. These youngsters would find relate easily to it and may find it enlightening possibly hoping to play a part in turning them around. What better use of all the pain I suffered to hep another. I now am wondering if I should take it off Authonomy, any suggestions? Peace and Blessings for the new year Chris Stewart. x

Hello Carlag,

Hope you are well. Maybe you would like to try out my new satire, Doghouse Blues. Here is an endorsement:

I was attracted to Doghouse Blues from the pitch alone because it was so very different. There are so many budding writers out there who want to earn the same sort of money as J K Rowling by writing exactly the same kind of book and , to be frank, I am getting a bit tired of it.
This, on the other hand, struck me as being an original piece of work. The product of a lively mind and written by someone who is an excellent observer of the real world out there and who knows how to translate his observations into print. Just the right amount of dialogue, which carries the story along well.
I have not read the complete book (yet) but have dipped into it fairly freely to see if the momentum is maintained. It certainly is.
Philip John

Looking forward to reading your comments on the Doghouse Blues webpage.

All the best,

Clive

Hi Carla,

In case you're looking for a new book to read and support, here's my pitch:

He struggled to eat, to sleep, to crawl.
Then…to play, to imagine, to interact.
And then, as he grew, he even struggled to behave.

I was sure that I had all the answers and knew a lot of things—
before Autism entered our home.
But what I did not yet know,
was the depth of the darkness that would touch my soul,
or the mercy of God that was deeper still,
or the whole new way I would cling to hope…
Hope for my boy.

He is the reason I wrote Now To Him, currently ranked at #9. It would be a great honor if you would consider reading, commenting, and backing it, should you find it worthy. Your support would be a great help.

In return, I will happily read and comment on 'Five Down.'

Thanks so much,
Faith Rose

Thank you for the encouragement, Carla! It looks like you have a lot of different stories to look at, so I will WL one of them and get to it as soon as I can. Kindest regards, Kara

Hello,

There is a gold medal winner on your bookshelf! That’s brilliant and it means this probably isn’t the first message you’ve had from someone trying to get their book in its place.

Well, this message is different. This message isn’t about my book - it’s about Elspeth McGregor‘s Paragon. The thing is, if you haven’t seen it already, you will enjoy giving it a go. Elspeth also a very thorough reviewer, if that’s ever what you are looking for.

Kindest wishes,

Hi there! I just wanted to say “hi” and introduce myself. My name is Michelle, and I am a Christian non-fiction writer here on Authonomy. I am new, but would love to help you in any way I can.

I have four books here, but would appreciate it so very much if you would take the time to comment and review just one:

http://authonomy.com/books/47250/a-woman-inspired-collection-1/

I know you may not agree with the content, and that’s okay. I would simply love your opinion on the introduction and my general writing style.

My first book is the one most readers seem to identify with, because it is born out of my life experiences. To sum it up, I would say it’s about finding the extraordinary presence of God in the ordinary course of life.

My second book is in a "Dear Abby" format, and the answers can be quite cut and dry.

My third and fourth books are in the style of daily devotionals...

But, to come and meet me and my amazing family, which I truly hope you will...you'll find us in the first book.

I hope my stories put a smile on your face today, and warmth in your heart.

Thank you so much for your time! I will review and comment on your book in return.

I also have shelf space, and if I love your book, I will shelve it and back it!

I would be honored if you backed my book! :)

Warmly,

Michelle

"The Prince and the Singularity – A Circular Tale" is a book with one big advantage, one only needs to read the first 40 lines to know wheteher one is going to like the story or not. If after the first 40 lines you're not hooked, no need to bother reading the rest.

Hello,

One thing I can state without a doubt is the Gay, Lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community is incredibly supportive and encouraging of their peers. However, for whatever reason, I haven’t seen that here on Authonomy. I did a review of the books listed in the Gay genre and many, even after several months on Authonomy are on a one or two shelves and a couple of watch-list.
One of the most helpful benefits of posting on Authonomy is getting honest feedback from other writers (or in my case: want-to-be writers).
In an effort to connect GLBT writers and GLBT supporters with other like-minded writers I am creating this forum to give GLBT's writers a place to give and receive feedback on their books at:
All forums > Discuss authonomy > GLBT COMMUNITY BOOK LIST
To Join:
Post your name and the link to your book on this thread and we will update the member's list on this, the first post.

Protocol:
1) When reviewing another member's book put the word GLBT Review at the top of the review to show that you are a proud GLBTer.
2) Post a message when you review a GLBT book to let us know what you're up to.
3) Try to give courteous and constructive criticism. Remember that, as nice as it is to receive purely positive reviews, there is nothing so useful as original, helpful advice from another reader.
4) You should always try to return any feedback that you receive. If someone has made the effort to read and comment on your book, it's only fair that you should offer such help in return.

Read -Swaps
If you've got time on your hands and are looking for some help, offer an read-swap in which a like-minded user will swap feedback in a limited time agreed by the two of you.

If you're unsure about anything, get in touch. We're here to help!

Hi, Carla, I could do with your help.
I would be honoured if you could spare some room on your shelf for my children’s book should you deem it worthy
I will always give a honest comment of your own book 'Lady of the Manor'.

Hello, my name is James Revino. I am the author of ‘Hollow.’ I was wondering if you might be able to take a look at my work and tell me what you think, good and bad. Any critique would be much appreciated, it is the best way to improve. Of course, if you wanted to back it, that would be great as well. Have a good day, and thanks for your time.

Carlag, You left my book WHO KILLED THE PRESIDENT a favorable comment earlier this year, but I notice you didn't back it. Would you consider doing that now? I was at the #2 spot on the Ed’s desk this month but I’ve spent most of the last 2 weeks at a hospital because my son is so ill. Because of that, the book has sunk to the 5th place and will soon drop off the desk. Thank you if you can find the space on your shelf for even one day. Wanttobeawriter.

Carlag, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment on Who Killed the President. I know we're all busy so I really appreciate the time you took to do that. Thanks again. Wanttobeawriter
