Hi Polly

Re Woolwich. I'm not trying to 'shut you up' (as if I could) but I'm hoping it doesn't become a topic in the way that Benghazi or the Boston Bombings were. Also I don't think Ruby's thread is the right place for it.

At the moment it just seems too weird and until we know a bit more about those who did it it's not possible to figure out what the response should be.

thanks for what you are doing. Im slow with this "school and work" thing, but I'll keep at it. :-)
Just want to let you know we appreciate all your hard work to keep us going. :-)

Hi, I'm guilty of not keeping up with crits. I was sequestered for my own revisions, but I'm gonna make up for it. Don't kick me out, K?

I was wondering though, about the 3 chapters thing. I feel like I have great input on my own first three chapters, but a lot of it is the same, and most people will only read the required three. So I'd rather read a different three chapters of someone else's MS, with the caveat that I might not have the whole background, but it might prove more useful to the author. Unless there is some rule about that and the idea is that everyone crits the same thing.

If I like the book, I've made the effort to read the whole thing. Which means I may give fewer crits, but I think they are better.

Hello,
I was wondering if I'd be next :) Like waiting for a bus! I can be ready to go on Monday. Book no 2 isn't complete yet, but I think there's enough there to keep YALFers busy. Very exciting! Thanks for checking with me first.

Re: the 'Let's write another story' thread:

"so she buggered off and didn't take such a big part any longer."

Well said/written! What an annoying individual, I guess there's always one. Anyway, well done again.

Cariad,

Thanks and I'm looking forward to when you find time. But aren't we all pressed for time!

Cariad,

I recently posted my second book, “Children of Greenwich Village,” a sequel to my first, “Orphan of Greenwich Village.” Both books are set in 1953 and star George and Sally. He’s a nine year old boy who fell through the cracks after his mother died and lived by himself in Greenwich Village. She’s a fifteen year old refugee from life in the East Village who moved in with him to escape her own family.

Unlike most young adult books, these books have no magic, arch-villains, car chases or talking animals, just two children coping with very, very unusual lives.

I’ve never written a sequel before and would especially appreciate feedback on whether “Children” is understandable by someone who hasn’t read “Orphan” first.

Take a screenshot of your solution and go to this address:

Click on the image of the book and you'll get my (top secret) e-mail address.
Paste your solution or send as an attachment. I think you've suffered enough.

Hi P
Sorry to bother you, especially if I have already been asking for your support. I am currently sitting at 27 and with your help I can make it to the coveted ED. I return all reads with honest comments. If I have missed a return read for you let me know, for I am sure that I have missed someone recently. If you could shelf Mary's Magic Muffins & Other Tales for Children for a while I'd be ever so grateful, and I never forget those who have helped me.
Thanks in advance.
Brian.

I've just posted the answers to the YALF quiz for "Dragonraptor" on the YALF thread. Everything's set.

I'm ready.

Yep. Well spotted. I have a proof copy positively bristling with post-it notes. I'll get round to producing a cleaner version before too long. I'm glad you're enjoying the puzzle and thanks for doing some sterling typo spotting a couple of days ago. When you finish and press "Submit", you should be sent directly to a page on my website from which you can contact me. This will only happen if all answers are correct, I'm afraid. Keep plugging away!

"I can't see anywhere I said you were arguing about it, Pat. Could you point it out"

I posted your quote merely to point the word "arguing" out' as you requested, Polly. No other reason.

PJ,
You might want to click on www.scribd.com/dloganw whereby David Welch interviews me regarding the North Korean situation in "Nuts in the North." This could be a good venue for your book to get Twitter exposure.
