Hello Meera!

You should check out my book “Little Mouse.” It’s about a young girl who finds herself kidnapped under very bizarre circumstances and decides to find a way home no matter what. Oh yeah, also magic and lesbians.

Message to all YALFers,

This will be my last message to all of you. I’m so sorry to be leaving. You’re a great group and there are so many of you who are as keen on YALF as I am, that you’ve all made running it very easy. I feel, though, that YALF needs someone in charge who can monitor it regularly and give their own reviews of each book and it could be a long time before I’m able to do that again. I’m delighted that Cariad has offered to take over. She is very committed to YALF and will do an excellent job at running the thread.

I need to thank all of you who’ve committed wholeheartedly to YALF and given regular, insightful, helpful reviews. Those reviews are what make YALF the success it’s turned out to be, and it has been particularly wonderful to see the number of YALFers who continue to YALF even after their book has been reviewed. All of you with that level of commitment (whether you’ve had your review or not) are the real heart of YALF and it has been a great pleasure to be a part of your team. All the best to all of you for the future.

And now for the real message;

Just a reminder that there are only three days remaining with Kirstie’s book ‘The Girl Who Ran with Wolves’ as book-of-the-fortnight. For those who haven’t read and reviewed it yet, we’re looking forward to receiving your post in the next few days. Post your reviews on the current YALF thread. YALF won’t swap over to Cariad’s new thread until Dec 5th. On Dec 5th, keep your eye out for messages from Cariad (either here and/or on YALF) telling you YALF’s new address.

Thanks to all of you who’ve already posted comments for Kirstie. She’s received some great feedback.

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed DJ’s ‘The Ghost Shirt’ over the last fortnight. DJ’s received some great feedback and we wish him all the best in these last few days before he makes the ed’s desk.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 4th December is Kirstie’s ‘The Girl Who Ran With the Wolves’. Kirstie should shortly be giving us an idea of the sort of critique she’s after, so keep an eye on YALF.

Hi, how are you today? :)

As we end the month of October and Jinger makes it to the ED, I would like to introduce my book to you, LEO & ROVER: THE PURPLE MARBLE ADVENTURES.

Please take a look, you might like it. Many have enjoyed the story, and I hope you do, too. I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for your support in advance. Have a prosperous November!

Take care,
D

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed Lucy’s ‘Jinger Barley and the Murkle Moon’ over the last fortnight. And an extra big thank-you to Sam for allowing Lucy to slot in early (even though he wasn’t being nice!). There are only a few more days before Jinger will be at the ed’s desk, so I’m pleased that we’ve managed to sneak in our YALF feedback in time.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 6th November is Sam’s ‘The Committee of Dubious Goals’. This is a great book and I’m sure everyone will enjoy it. Sam’s already posted his blurb on page 72 of YALF, so have a read of his post to get an idea of the sort of critique he’s after.

Thanks to all of you who’ve already posted comments. I’m sure Lucy has been pleased to get this final burst of feedback with the ed’s desk just days away.

I have been very conscious of my non-participation in YALF for many weeks now. As I’m keeping away from keyboards as much as possible at the moment, my non-participation is likely to continue for some time and I feel that that is to the detriment of YALF, particularly for the book-of-the-fortnight and any new members wanting to join. Consequently, I’d like to step down from running YALF. Anybody who’d like to take my place, please email me at nzkokako@gmail.com.

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed Patricia’s ‘Break Free!’ over the last fortnight.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 23rd October is Lucy’s ‘Jinger Barley and the Murkle Moon’. I’m sure many of us will have been on the receiving end of one of Lucy’s marvelously thorough reviews, so let’s try and give her the most helpful reviews we can in return. If anyone deserves our support it’s Lucy.

Lucy should shortly be giving us an idea of the sort of critique she’s after, so keep an eye on YALF.

Message to all YALFers,

Just a reminder that there are only four days remaining with Patricia’s book ‘Break Free!’ as book-of-the-fortnight. For those who haven’t read and reviewed it yet, we’re looking forward to receiving your post in the next few days.

Thanks to all of you who’ve already posted comments. You’ve given Patricia some great feedback.

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed Audrey’s ‘Forgiveness Fits’ over the last fortnight.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 9th October is Patricia’s ‘Break Free’. Patricia wanted to ensure everyone was aware that her book has a strong Christian focus. Members are welcome to opt out of assessing it if they find the Christian emphasis makes it difficult for them to review the book with appropriate detachment. Please just post a polite note on YALF to let me know you have opted out.

I see Patricia has already posted a comment giving us an idea of the sort of critique she’s after. It’s the first post on page 63 of YALF.

You’re in YARG! This is a message for all YARG members.

YARG iii launched at the beginning of September. This means that the old YARG thread is no longer active and there is a new place for all your YARG activity.

http://www.authonomy.com/forums/threads/103435/young-adult-reading-group-yarg-iii-/

There’s still a requirement to review one book a month and there are plenty of new members whose books you might not have read yet. I’ll be doing my best to keep the thread shipshape, attract new members and post the monthly tallies.

Happy YARGing!

Lucy

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed Ellie’s ‘Paragon’ over the last fortnight. You’ve all done a great job.

Thanks also to those who’ve given their views on my proposal regarding jumping ahead in the list (See last post Pg 54 and 3rd post, pg 56 of YALF). I appreciate the feedback.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 25th September is Audrey’s ‘Forgiveness Fits’. Audrey has given up her place as book-of-the-fortnight to everyone who we’ve so far reviewed. Such generosity deserves a big reward, so let’s do the best we can to make Audrey’s time as book-of-the-fortnight a good one.

Audrey should shortly be giving us an idea of the sort of critique she’s after, so keep an eye on YALF.

We are coming down to crunch time and I note you have not been able to accomplish many reads for Club Grimoire. Do you wish to make a final push to stay in the competition, or are life events making this impossible? Please let me know your decision.

Meera,
If I have not asked...
When you get a chance, please visit Finger Bones. And if you enjoy it, Finger Bones loves LoTs and bunched of stars!

It is a middle-grade fantasy.

I am starting to prepare for my journey to the desk. If you can help and back, I will be so appreciative.

I have students from several schools waiting and watching!

If you have a book, I will be happy to read yours too!

Message to all YALFers,

A big thank-you to everyone who reviewed Benedict’s ‘The Princess and the Peach’ over the last fortnight. It sparked a lot of interesting discussion.

The book-of-the-fortnight from today until the 11th September is Ellie’s ‘Paragon’. This is another book sitting close to the desk, and another great read, so let’s see what we can do for Ellie.

Ellie should shortly be giving us an idea of the sort of critique she’s after, so keep an eye on YALF.
