Hello Mindrose,

Hope you are well. Maybe you would like to try out my new satire, Doghouse Blues. Here is an endorsement:

I was attracted to Doghouse Blues from the pitch alone because it was so very different. There are so many budding writers out there who want to earn the same sort of money as J K Rowling by writing exactly the same kind of book and , to be frank, I am getting a bit tired of it.
This, on the other hand, struck me as being an original piece of work. The product of a lively mind and written by someone who is an excellent observer of the real world out there and who knows how to translate his observations into print. Just the right amount of dialogue, which carries the story along well.
I have not read the complete book (yet) but have dipped into it fairly freely to see if the momentum is maintained. It certainly is.
Philip John

Looking forward to reading your comments on the Doghouse Blues webpage.

All the best,

Clive

Thank you ever so kindly my Scottish friend-
I do hope that your father-in-law is fine now-
Authonomy finally sent me an e-mail, saying there
was nothing they could do to get my backers back-
something to do with my new upload having less than 10.000 words or something to that effect -
Sometimes one just can't win, however God is good !!
thanks again

Could I interest you in taking a look at my novel, A Shamrock On The Verandah? It's the story of Bridget Flannigan, an Irish immigrant living in a small Kansas town at the end of the 19th century. Follow her as she faces the challenges of life in a frontier hotel.

Hi Mindrose,
This is an official invitation from a Scotsman, to come and join The Ghost Shirt Warriors. Once you read chapter 1 you might see why Little Wing and Angus need your support. Even if Children's or Y/A writing isn't your thing I would like your perspective on my work. Also one of the later chapters in the book is called the First Circle, which I see you list as one of your favorite books. Coincidence of course but a spurious link anyway.
Thanks

Greetings Mindrose,
With your aversion to winking in mind perhaps this is audacious, but if you're willing to give it a shot you are invited to check out my children's novel, the Lost Wink.
Thanks!
Tod

Oh, it's fine, and I certainly do understand. I have a watchlist full of them and with having such a hard time with this site (server problems?) I don't get all the reading in I would like.

I appreciate you've got me on your list!

Thanks,

Abby

Hello my Scottish friend- how are you keeping-
or as they say- long time no see!

With the intention of uploading my book to E-Books and Amazon.
I have worked hard over the past while back; Editing, proofing, and styling my book. Resulting from that, I have slipped back in the rankings , on this site.
My son, Home on holidays from Australia has put my book into what's called a drop box, and says, I can now send it to friends-

I have 28 of the 41 chapters completed to the best of my ability, and hope to have the rest done, in the next few weeks; please God-
On completion, I will have to slash the chapters to get an acceptable word count, as 160k is not a viable situation, I believe.
If i can get around to updating this revised book on Authonomy ,
Well ! Just don't know, the jury is out on that one,

I feel better, now that i have got that off my chest.
I will ask my son, if it is possible to send you an individual
chapter, I think, he told me, that all chapters go, if I hit the box .

Keep well
Tom Bye

Oh, I do need your help! All the things you stop reading for are the things I worry about! I need honest feedback about my book. And I was wondering if you would read, rate and comment on my book? I'm not interested in getting to the "Fab Five" just wanting to be a better writer.

If you have a book you would like me to read, I'll be happy to do it, just let me know.

Thank you,

Abby

mindrose, after careful evaluation, I don't believe I've violated any of the listed requirements :)

If you’re looking for a new book to read and back (if you find it worthy), I’d be honored if you’d consider No Kiss Good-bye. It’s unlike any other story on authonomy and one that you’ll live and feel with all your senses. It’s my true-life story of escaping communist Romania along switchbacks that eventually led to America.

Here’s the link: http://www.authonomy.com/books/39263/no-kiss-good-bye. Thank you so much!

TDonna
PS. After all these years, English is still a foreign language to me. Only trouble is, Romanian is one, too :))

Hi there – sorry to bother but I am seriously seeking some advice.

I have been on the site for a few days now and have re-written the first couple of chapters of my book according to the tons of advice received so far…My name is Craig Zerf and I currently have 2 books with my agent, Ian Drury of Sheil Land agencies. The first novel that Ian accepted was not taken up by any publishers despite having been very favourably reviewed by 2 best selling authors; Michael Marshall (The Straw Men, The Intruders, The Lonely Dead) who said that it was one of the best books that he had read in recent years, and Meg Rosoff (How I Live Now, Just In Case) who said "I think that you are a fantastic writer. The story is tragic and blood-curdling and extraordinary."

It’s very frustrating so I have opted to put it out here and try my hardest to get some unbiased advice. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my script (or even just the first chapter or so) and tell me what you think. Thanks ever so much – Craig (Zuffles).
THE BROKEN MEN - The best of boyhood friends, Leon and Pete, grow up in South Africa during the hatred and turmoil of the Apartheid era. Like every other white male between the ages of sixteen and sixty-five they are conscripted into the army in order to fight for the continuance of the white regime.
In this maelstrom of Apartheid and war the two friends become the most deadly of enemies. Together they are drawn into a path of death, violence and brutality that spans the oceans from Southern Africa to the United Kingdom

Paper back is coming soon, I've seen the proofs.
Its all very exciting and I'm not sure if I'm on my head or my heels. I have got one review on Amazon and one on Goodreads so far.
I'm never sure if its a good idea to read them, but they have been fine so far.

Hello mindrose,
My book is simply called ‘Madeline’ (Link below)
She has stolen the hearts of both women and men on this site.
In just over 7 weeks is has quickly risen from obscurity to the rank of 14 and hopefully with more ‘Backings’ can progress further.
If you are not hooked by the prologue, then ditch it…
I would dearly appreciate some feedback / comments and /or a backing from you please.
Best regards
David

A classic visualization on a contemporary theme, as a sixteen year old Madeline is led into the murky world of prostitution, where she hails supreme.

Hi again,
Well if I ever finish a first draft of this book, I will certainly need proofreading and copy editing help. Therefore my email address is kardos_eileen@hotmail.com. This is not exactly urgent, by the way.
cheers,
Eileen
