Hello Sam,

Hope you are well. Maybe you would like to try out my new satire, Doghouse Blues. Here is an endorsement:

I was attracted to Doghouse Blues from the pitch alone because it was so very different. There are so many budding writers out there who want to earn the same sort of money as J K Rowling by writing exactly the same kind of book and , to be frank, I am getting a bit tired of it.
This, on the other hand, struck me as being an original piece of work. The product of a lively mind and written by someone who is an excellent observer of the real world out there and who knows how to translate his observations into print. Just the right amount of dialogue, which carries the story along well.
I have not read the complete book (yet) but have dipped into it fairly freely to see if the momentum is maintained. It certainly is.
Philip John

Looking forward to reading your comments on the Doghouse Blues webpage.

All the best,

Clive

I’m doing some selective promotion for my book, ‘Cured’, to celebrate the posting of the first twelve chapters of a revised version. Somewhere, sometime, you have expressed an interest in zombies, either by writing about them or commenting on someone else’s writing about them. That’s why you are receiving this message. It’s only going to those with a genuine taste for the genre. Just looking like a zombie, or writing like one, isn’t enough.
‘Cured’ is about what happens to people who have been cured of a zombie/rage infection. It has some really horrific action scenes, but also a diverse cast of realistic, often flawed, characters faced with complex personal, social and political dilemmas. All I’m asking is that you take a quick look at it and comment on anything you like or don’t like. Backing or starring it is, of course, entirely up to you. I’m not promising anything in return, but obviously if you have something that interests me, I’ll have a look at it.
Here are a few comments I liked. ‘A new and intelligent slant on the mass infection genre’. ‘Very professional writing’. ‘Everything was relevant...no wasted words or sentences’. ‘Dramatic and gritty writing’. ‘The pacing is perfect’. ‘Not PC, but so very true’. ‘A great twist on an over-played genre’. ‘Stayed up far later than I intended reading this’. Selective, of course, but not wholly unrepresentative (check it out).
As you will have already noted, I’m not afflicted by false (or even sincere) modesty, but I am open to criticism – hence the revised version. All the same, if anyone can convince me that there are one thousand, two hundred and three better books than ‘Cured’ on this site, I will trouble you no more and go back to what I know I’m bad at – working on my golf handicap.
Thanks for your consideration,
Dave

Hi. I've put your book on our shortlist and will have a read over the next week, then comment/rate. Best wishes, Janet

Congrats, you have a gold-medal book on your shelf. That book will no longer help your TSR (user ranking).
If you are looking for a new potential gold-medal book to put on your shelf next month, please consider my novel called Solian Chronicles: Pluto Genesis.
It is a positive Science Fiction novel of the near future that has gotten some very good reviews. Thank you for your consideration and I hope you have a very nice day.

Hi there! I just wanted to say “hi” and introduce myself. My name is Michelle, and I am a Christian non-fiction writer here on Authonomy. I am new, but would love to help you in any way I can.

I have four books here, but would appreciate it so very much if you would take the time to comment and review just one:

http://authonomy.com/books/47250/a-woman-inspired-collection-1/

I know you may not agree with the content, and that’s okay. I would simply love your opinion on the introduction and my general writing style.

My first book is the one most readers seem to identify with because it is born out of my life experiences. To sum it up, I would say it’s about finding the extraordinary presence of God in the ordinary course of life.

My second book is in a "Dear Abby" format, and the answers can be quite cut and dry.

My third and fourth books are in the style of uplifting daily devotionals.

But, to come and meet me and my amazing family, which I truly hope you will...you'll find us in the first book. :)

I hope my stories put a smile on your face today, and warmth in your heart.

Thank you so much for your time! I will review and comment on your book in return.

I also have shelf space, and if I love your book, I will shelve it and back it!

Warmly,

Michelle

Hi Sam,
I’d appreciate it if you would read a chapter or two of my book and let me know what you think. I’d be happy to reciprocate.

HELP, HELP, HELP

Stop the Insanity was first posted to Authonomy a little over three weeks ago. It is a manifesto for those of us who are fed up with our dysfunctional Congress, and would like to do something about it.

I’ve received a number of interesting comments, some critical others very positive. I enjoyed both kinds but the critical ones were more helpful. As a result of comments, ranging from mildly critical to telling me I was a complete idiot, I have extensively revised the book. I have now posted an updated version with more, shorter and clearer chapters. It has gone from nine to sixteen chapters with almost no increase in the number of pages.

It is now early September and I will send the manuscript off for professional editing at the end of September. It is crucial that I make any necessary changes in the next three weeks. I need your help to do this.

I need you to pick one or two chapters that are of interest. There is a table of contents at the start of chapter one. Then write and post comments letting me know of any suggestions you have. I will consider any recommendations. With your help I can improve the book, make the ED, successfully self publish it, and hopefully change the world.

I am looking forward to hearing from you

Sincerely,

David Welch

Hi Sam,

Just dropping by to say a big "thank you" for your continued support of Discoredia.

My target is to reach the desk for Halloween as it's only fitting that horror should be represented.

Hopefully I can gather enough comments, stars, watchlists, and shelves to make this a reality, and your help in achieving this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

James

Hello Mr. Hayler,

A singular literary comedy examining faith & redemption:

Adulterous alcoholic substance-abusing schizophrenic author/academic/columnist Brendan Dogge has an unusual problem: he keeps killing his closest friends. As "An Unfinished Innocence" opens, he is up to 2.5 victims and wondering how he can avoid making that three.

"An Unfinished Innocence" explores Dogge's strangely comic search for redemption.

My online excerpt comes from a chapter halfway through the book and shows how Dogge manages to notch up his half-victim, and his relationship with a singular dancer. There is also a scene from a later chapter showing his hospitalization in a psychiatric ward--told largely from the perspective of an afflicted mind--a look at that world from someone who's been there.

The prose is energetic, poetic. The ideas come fast and furious. You may not want to back this comic novel, but you will agree you've never read anything like it.

Title: “An Unfinished Innocence”
author: j.l. wood-miller

All the best!

Hi. I am new to this site and am looking for honest feedback on my book, In the Beginning. Was wondering if you would read, rate, comment, and if you like it, back my book?

If you have something you would like for me to read, I'll be happy to do it, just let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Abby

Hi Sam – it’s me again…

BLOODSTONES is so close to the Ed's desk I can almost smell the mahogany. I was briefly at number one, but we're all jostling for space up there in the top five and I'm slipping away...aaargh!

If you could give me a few days on your shelf, I might just make it to the end of the month and that all important Harper Collins Editor’s read.

So if there’s some room for me on your stylish bookshelf, many thanks, all the best from me, your Authonomy friend, Cas.

I won’t forget you…

Hello Sam Hayler,

There is a gold medal winner on your bookshelf! That’s brilliant and it means this probably isn’t the first message you’ve had from someone trying to get their book in its place.

Well, this message is different. This message isn’t about my book - it’s about Benedict Brown’s The Princess and the Peach. The thing is, if you haven’t seen it already, you might enjoy giving it a go. If you don’t laugh in the first couple of chapters, I’d be surprised. Benedict is also a very thorough reviewer, if that’s ever what you are looking for.

Hey there, Sam. My new investigative piece ‘THE CASE OF THE DROWNING MEN: Investigating the Smiley Face Serial Murder Theory’ will be featured this month in Crime Magazine, a leading resource for followers of true crime. I’ve also previewed it on Authonomy this week. You up for solving some murders…?

(And if you hate the book, then please consider backing the other truly excellent ones on my shelf—tons of talented writers on this site who could really use some extra support!)

Kind regards to you, and best wishes—
E.R.

Congrats on helping Cara's book get her Gold Medal as one of the top 5. Now that she has, continuing to support her book doesn't count with your TSR (user ranking) any longer. Could you please consider switching your support to my novel called Solian Chronicles: Pluto Genesis? I too helped Cara get to the top 5 and hope you can now help me as we helped her. Thank you for your consideration.
