Hello Plane,
I am writing in case you return in January. I had the pleasure of reading and backing your book some months ago, but now I’m asking a favour. I am making a serious bid for the desk – now - in January. I'm asking that if you think my book good enough, you put it on your shelf and leave it as long as possible. Win or lose, I plan to return to normal life after 1st February. This site also has a lot to offer those of us who never reach the desk.
Thank you if you say yes, no worries if you don't.
Have a Happy New Year. Marj.

Plane, I am writing to you as someone who has been kind enough to support the Firelord’s Crown in the past. Now I need your help once more. I have been on site for nearly 2 years and worked my way up through reading and commenting on books. I have always been uncomfortable with ‘spamming’ and tit-for-tat backings but I do feel able to ask if you could please support Firelord by shelving it for a while over the next month? I have made the Ed's desk but really need help to stay there. Under the new system I cannot offer you anything but an immediate * star rating and the promise of whatever support you feel you need; a second reading or comment etc. if you do not feel able to put Firelord on your shelf, please could you still *rate it for me?
Many, many thanks!
Regards,
Jim Darcy

I wanted to thank you for backing my novel Fidelity in the past. I could really use your support again as we head into the final week of the month.

I’d love to critically review a chapter (or another chapter) of your book. Name a chapter, and I’ll get to it as soon as I can. I’m offering this because I’m trying to honor the intentions of the site by not over-rotating my shelf.

You can sample the style of my feedback under the “my comments” section of my profile. I prefer to leave the constructive criticism in the author’s messages; that gives the author more privacy and control over the publication of my opinion.

Whichever way you decide to act, you’ve supported me in the past, and I thank you for that.

Once upon a time you were kind enough to back my book Apocalypse Then. After one year on the site and nearly 700 reviews I have accepted many of the suggestions (sometimes, I admit, through gritted teeth) and the work is fully edited. I believe Apocalypse Then is now ready for the desk. If you belive this to be so please consider placing it on your desk. All the best DD ;o)

Dear Plane,
Good Morning! I wonder if you would care to take another look at my novel – The Assassins Village– a murder mystery/historical fiction set in Cyprus?
I have been delighted with the response from readers, and the chance to make the Editor’s Desk this month. With this new system, a book has to be on the most shelves for a long period all at once, to survive. At present, I’m on the least safe shelf of all the top five, so without more support, I’m afraid I’ll be dropping off.
I hate having to ask, but your very kind support might be the only way to keep The Assassins’ Village on the desk. The rest of November would be fantastic, but I understand that there are many great books here that we’d all love to support. So anything would help – please.
I appreciate everyone is plaguing you with requests but my place is not guaranteed and a bit precarious. I plan to stay active on Authonomy long after November (3rd book to come), so I’ll make sure I can support your work in the future.

If I have offended you by this request then please accept my humblest apologies.

Many, many thanks and best wishes,
Faithx

Hello,
I am not an author myself and am here purely as a fan of literature but I fully endorse David James Pickering's books, especially 'convergence' which I think you will find a thrilling and compelling read. If you would give his a look then I shall be happy to read yours and of course back you if I enjoy the story.
Thank you and good luck,
Karen.

Hi Plane
I wondered if you'd like to take a wee peek at The Prodigal Prophet, my autobiography set in Northern Ireland and Southern California. It's a mix of The Wizard of Oz and The Pilgrim's Progress - no preaching contained in it so safe to read!

OR ALTERNATIVELY

If you've already read it, sincere apologies. You might like to have a look instead at my latest book, 'Mystical Musings - Prodigal Prophet Style'. Here's my pitch for it!

'Tired of Packaged Religion - then jump into this new stream of Irish Mysticism and common sense.'

Blessings

Charlie

Would you be interested in swapping reads with me? If so let me know. I’m hoping to exchange reads with people I have not read yet. I will return all favors (i.e., reads, backing, and critical feedback). If you’re interested let me know, my friend. Hope to hear from you.

cheers

A fantasy tale awaits you never told before
Darkness Awakens is knocking on your door

Stories are told about pixies, elves, dragons, and much more
Magical spells, romance, adventures and suspenseful lore

I will have you on all two or perhaps three or four
May the story never become an outrageous bore

If you enjoy Darkness Awakens "back" it and ask for more!
If not be nice and throw it back out your door!

Plane, writing the book is the easy, and most enjoyable, part. Uploading is a bit convoluted but not impossible. The degree of difficulty, however, increases when trying to get others to read it. To get backing, and preferably with comments, is an accomplishment. You need the tenacity & thick skin of a door to door salesman. So, knock knock! Would you care to exchange reads? (And yes, this is Spam.) Thanks for your time. Bocri

Hi Plane,

The reason for this message is that unfortunately, and it is my fault involving a major computer glitch and I did not back up my files, I have lost track of everyone who has supported me and whom I have supported. Trying to re-coordinate my message feed would be an almost impossible task. So please do not consider this to be a Spam message for that is not my intent.

I have recently decided to try to make a run at the Editor’s Desk in order to garner more feedback on my work on top of all of the good constructive criticism I have already received on this site, some of which I have incorporated into my two re-edits to date. I am currently in the process of a major re-edit, with outside help, and adding more than 20,000 words to bring my book up to full novel length.

So, if I have been remiss in not reading your book please let me know and I will be more than happy to read it and offer support and comments. If you have already backed me, thank you. It is greatly appreciated. If not, all as I ask is for you to read as much of my book as you care to and then decide if my work is worthy of your support. Once again, thank you.

Good luck in your writing endeavours.

My best regards,
Andrew Burans

Hi. I would happily take a look at your books "Gold Mountain Burns" and "Angels at the Golden Gate" and pass them along to my friend thebobster (ranked 17) if you would take a look at my book "The Freel of Streel." Just let me know if that sounds okay.

Best Wishes,
Ian Kraft

Plane, I recently read, commented on and backed Gold Mountain Burns. It would great if you could spare a few minutes to look at Appetites

eurodan49 wrote 1017 days ago

I will appreciate if you look at TO KILL A DEAD MAN. Comments are welcome and please tell me what works and what doesn’t. I would like your backing but only if you think the book deserves it.
I’ll return reads and comments (regardless of genre) and will back works of merit.
