Dear Dutch,
I am very happy for Jessica. The Library of Living is such a lovely book, and it so deserved to make it to the desk.
But now that the happy tears have been wiped away, I am sure you are agonizingly trying to figure out which book to back next.
Be careful, you are stuck with your choice until you croak again.
Oh, no, that's not right.
But you DO need something new on your shelf.
I have just the thing.
Fresh Meat is a comic paranormal novel set in steamy Puerto Rico where the mosquitoes are scarier than the vampires. It has led many authonomites to fits of hysterical laughter, causing stomach aches and coughing of milk through the nose, not caused by coincidental ticking.
Won't you please have a look? It has delighted many people who don't even like paranormal.
Best,
Maeve

Thank you Dutch for backing my book. I see you don't have one on here. When you upload one, let me know and I'll read it.
Take care, Jes.x

Hi Dutch,

I've read all the books you put on your shelf and I loved those ones too. I came looking for a book of yours, let me know if/when you put one up. You might like my book, a prehistoric-setting mystery-adventure that follows the quest of a young winged velociraptor

Hello Dutch,

That is one cool looking panda.

There is a gold medal winner on your bookshelf! That’s brilliant and it means this probably isn’t the first message you’ve had from someone trying to get their book in its place.

Well, this message is different. This message isn’t about my book - it’s about Benedict Brown’s The Princess and the Peach. The thing is, if you haven’t seen it already, you might enjoy giving it a go. If you don’t laugh in the first couple of chapters, I’d be surprised. Benedict is also a very thorough reviewer, if that’s ever what you are looking for.

Kindest wishes,

Lucy

Congrats on helping Cara's book get her Gold Medal as one of the top 5. Now that she has, continuing to support her book doesn't count with your TSR (user ranking) any longer. Could you please consider switching your support to my novel called Solian Chronicles: Pluto Genesis? I would too helped Cara get to the top 5 and hope you can now help me as we helped her. Thank you for your consideration.

Hey :)

I just want to say a huge thank you for supporting me. It’s been an incredible journey on Authonomy; I’ve made some amazing friends, improved my writing beyond imaginable, and gained a lot more confidence and self-belief.

I’ve also realized why I write; for the joy of it. It just makes me so happy to be able to share books with all you incredibly talented authors!

This is such a terribly written message because I’m so overwhelmed by everything. Thank you once again, I will not forget your support. I have a nice long list of you all and will be making my way through return reads, and sticking around the site to offer you support too :)

Sincerely,
Cara

p.s. I’d also just like to also take the opportunity to advertise my young author thread where there are some amazing books!

Cara has had an amazing run, for an amazing fantasy novel. I am a very proud supporter of The Awakening, and am thrilled that it made the desk.
I know Cara has several recommendations for her supporters, but I would like to make one more. It is not my book, but a fantasy by a dear authonomy friend, Lindsay Llewellyn called A Priest's Tale.
http://www.authonomy.com/books/36640/a-priest-s-tale/
It is a fabulous fantasy involving a cantankerous priestess forced on a  journey that challenges everything she believes in for the sake of her country.
I think it is fab, and I highly recommend it. Please have a look while you are considering alternatives for your shelf.
Again, please join me in congratulating Cara for a great run.
Best,
Maeve

Hi Dutch,

I would like to ask you for support of my book Mr. and Mrs. Grassroots: How Barack Obama, Two Bookstore Owners, and 300 Volunteers Did It.

I would appreciate it if you can read, back, and star my book.

It is the "real story" of Barack Obama's early campaigns and how he did it. With the help of a couple bookstore owners who helped create one of the biggest grassroots campaigns in American and world history.

Thanks.

John Presta, Mr. Grassroots

Period drama….historical fiction!
‘No way’ I hear you say ‘I wouldn’t read that, it’s not my thing’
……well then please read my book ‘Madeline’...it may change your mind.
She has stolen the hearts of both women and men on this site.
In just over two months is has quickly risen from obscurity to rank #5
If you are not hooked by the prologue, then by all means ditch it…
Not asking you to back it, just read it and see if you like it…
Best regards
David

A classic visualization on a contemporary theme, as a sixteen year old Madeline is led into the murky world of prostitution, where her fate awaits.

Cas Greenfield: writer, broadcaster, musician, artist

Hi there - just extending the ink-stained hand of friendship. Dutch? You might like my Amsterdam based book Slow Poison...

I've been on-site for a little while now, and I've found it to be an extremely constructive and rewarding experience. The range of writing and subjects available here seems to cover a broad spectrum of styles and ability, but it does pay to have a thick skin - some of those critics can be pretty fierce!

Adding books to your stylish virtual bookshelf, making oodles of friends, commenting where you can – that seems to be the way to raise the profile, so here I am.

I'm usually around, so it would be fantastic to hear from you.

Anyway…happy writing, reading or whatever it is you’re doing today...all the best, Cas

PS: If you do happen to get the absolutely uncontrollable urge to look at either of my books, here are the links. I’m moving slowly but surely through the ranks with my dark stories, so I could do with your backing now, more than ever…

http://authonomy.com/books/42586/slow-poison/
http://www.authonomy.com/books/42590/bloodstones/

Slow Poison is dark and brutal, Bloodstones is a gentler read, but gets tougher as the story progresses. In the vein of Larsson, Welsh or Niffenegger I have been told. (…but I haven’t read any of their work yet…so you’ll have to be the judge of that…) The books are both complete and completely free to read.

Warning: both of my books contain explicit sexual acts, frequent swearing and disturbing scenes of violence. Please do not read if you are of a sensitive nature or under age in your territory.

Hi, saw you on an insane thread and loved the panda. If you'd be interested in reading some equally insane fairy stories I'd be very happy.

Hey you cute panda bear :)
So just wondering... if you have the time to check out my book and lend a hand if you deem it worthy of your support?
Someone whacked me in the head and I've got the insane idea to see if I can make the June desk... :o

In just under 8 weeks is has quickly risen from obscurity to the rank of 12 and hopefully with more ‘Backings’ can progress further.

I would dearly appreciate some feedback / comments and /or a backing from you please.

I am Jack's failure to follow his own 6th and 8th commandment.

1: Thou shalt not take this place too seriously.
2: Thou shalt not place ones book on one’s own shelf.
3: Thou shall offer honest critique and not false praise.
4: Thou shalt not use the star rating system to punish enemies.
5: Thou shalt not create fake accounts for the purposes of insulting your fellow authors, backing your book, or talking to yourself.
6: Thou shalt not spam your fellow authors, or ask for backings and reads if thou are unwilling to read their book first.
7: Thou shall use this site to network and improve their craft
8: Thou shall not spend more time here then you spend writing.
9: Thou will try and read, Miami. http://www.authonomy.com/books/34153/miami/
10: Thou shall not take this place too seriously.

Well technically, I am willing to swap reads, so perhaps I am in the clear. Yet, make no mistake, this is me spamming you in hopes that you will consider commenting on, or backing my novel.

I thank you for your consideration.

Jack

I like truth. It is easier to keep track of.
Now that Paul's fantastic books have gone to the great land beyond, I would like to tempt you with a comic murder mystery that has made many Authonomites tumble into fits of rather undignified hysterics.
Mrs Maginnes is Dead is set in Edinburgh and features a homicidal goat, communist transvestites, five certifiable sisters, true love, and a purple and pink plaid couch.
Won't you take a look?
Best,
Maeve
