The anecdotal quality has unpredictability. Especially liked “Party Peace” (“stain on my character”), Breaking Out, Culinary Delight (“tureen of your frown”), Final Demand. Succinct outsets and satisfying last lines! Well I DID!
What a joy...Your poems range from the cynical, the irreverent, the poignant to the hysterically..knicker grippingly funny...and I like them very much indeed.
Particular favourites:
Party Peace/ Expression of familiarity/ At last-Supper/Choice words and the entire Haik-who! Range.
Thanks for putting a BIG smile on my face...Backed

Oh, bugger.) I loved these in particular - A Woman Behaving Badly, An Unpredictably Tall Story, Aspiration, Centre Stage (gotta love that toilet humour) Culinary Delight, False Representation, Haik -who? Now Wash Your Hands, Regrets...I've had a Few, To Go Where No Man Has Gome Before, and I found Head in the Sand particularly movíng.
I found myself a little irritated by your commas. I just felt there were too many of them, and I wanted to round some up and shoot them. I always think of commas as pauses where a reader needs to take a breath. Some of your poetry made me hyperventilate - and not in a good way!

This is great stuff! Your poetry reads like Andy Partridge lyrics, which is a high compliment from me. Funny on the immediate level, poignant social commentary lurking underneath.

Read this aloud (though preferably not on the bus). There is great rhythm and cadence and flow to these combined with a knowing sense of humour.

Poetry books can be hard to sell but there's a knowing insight here than makes it easy to read and which brings a wry smile to your lips.

Especially if you read it aloud - just like all good poetry should be.

Cheers,

Excellent in everyway. Your form, structure and rhyme is very easy on the eye and mind. This for me makes it easier to read and indeed make me want to continue reading. Highly amusing and put together with great thought and skill. A pleasure to read.......I bet you can tell I am a fan of rhyme. I will be back to read the rest.
