This story is very well written, and the character of the fake lottery maker was intriguing.
Great Read. Backed.

Loved the first story - the crisp writing, the thoughtful arc of the story. One glitch - which worried me as I'm a pedant - the Mekong doesn't flow through China. If you are making a point about Gumbolt not knowing where Sam came from, the racial difference, you may need to do it differently. That or leave it out - give him a Geordie accent, something like that could be just as foreign for someone in deepest East Anglia.
Good luck with this - I'll be back next time I have 10 free minutes! j [ENDQUOTE]

Thanks Jo. Wow, a short story read. I was beginning to think maybe these short stories were not public! I think the Mekong flows through southern China for a while. Perhaps I should make it the Yangtze though as a more obviously Chinese river.
