about me

I've lived most of my life in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I caught the writing bug about a year ago. I appreciate the time you spent reading COYOTE RUN.

Rita Ellis

Mattie Latucci, a feisty private investigator and trouble magnet, witnesses the murder of undocumented aliens, while falling for the Border Patrol Agent who's protecting her.

The Arizona desert can be a dangerous place not just from the elements and creatures that roam the baked, desolate land, but also from the two-legged predators called coyotes, who target desperate individuals wanting to cross the US border. Mattie Latucci, a skip tracer and bungling private investigator, witnesses an execution, albeit from afar, in Casa Grande, a small community just south of Phoenix. The next day, her name and pertinent information appear in the paper. The coyotes employ a series of scare tactics that drives her into the arms of Border Patrol Agent, Steve Richards.

A divorced mother, Mattie is a member of a prominent family. Her quirky family adds to her list of problems and drives her a step closer to free admission to the nut farm. With the coyotes hunting her, Mattie still manages to get herself into strange inexplicable situations, mainly because she ‘leaps before she looks’. When she meets Steve Richards, the attraction is instantaneous and mutual, but after a messy divorce, she fights the attraction. Her playful, sassy, and sexy attitude is irresistible to Steve. Her world is turned upside-down while she tries to stay alive and possibly build a future with Steve.

Ariom, Nit pick away. That's the only way to learn. I'm glad you enjoyed the first chapter. It wasn't written to be deep, just something to enjoy and hopefully forget your own problems for a moment. Thanks again. Rita view book
