about me

I was born and raised in Southern California. I graduated a year early so I could get started on a college degree at Purdue in Indiana (my parents were from Indiana). Well, needless to say, life doesn't always go as planned. Three kids and two short marriages later (at 25), I finally got to start that college education. It took me14 years to complete (and another marriage and two more kids) a BS in Botany (I love plants and nature). Six years later with a failing marriage (he was violent) and two granddaughters to raise, it became necessary to go to grad school. I needed to earn more to support us all on my own, and a marvelous opportunity came open in a field I loved (forestry), so I jumped at it. I did well, got a good job with people I really enjoy after graduating and slowly but surely am rebuilding my life. It may seem meager, but I am content, because at each step of my life God has provided for me and my family in unexpected ways throughout it all. I do not only survive, but because of his great love and care I have flourished.

Faith - A Call to Love

Zonda Bryant

Christians are called to live a life of faith and that faith should show our love! For everyday people, the salt of the earth.

Mine is a simple message. A message of what I believe it means to be a Christian. As I look around at most of mainstream Christianity, I wonder if we have gotten off track somewhere and have forgotten the simple truths Jesus came to teach us – of how he wants us to relate to him, to God and to each other – with love. I fear we are in danger of becoming the Pharisees. Are we representing the true face of God to the world or have we gotten so wrapped up in “religion” that we have forgotten the basic message? I wanted to share what I have come to know, in hopes that it will at least get Christians to think. To inspire them to evaluate their own lives and consider if we are truly on track to bring the most wonderful news to a hungry people or if we need to change course. And if new Christians read this or those that are just curious to know more about us, I would hope my words are a compass to point them in the right direction as they begin their journey.

Dear Christopher, Interesting version of what it would be like if Christ had been born in our time. Funny - I found myself chuckling often - and insightful. Vivid descriptions of everything and very enjoyable. And you made excellent points that we all need to remember. The message of Christ ... view book

Dear Amanda, What a wonderful piece of work. It would be an excellent devotional. After all, who among us hasn't experienced the storms of life. Your words are encouraging and quite frankly, just what I needed to hear today. I believe other people would benefit from reading your little storie... view book

This book is more of a "How to" use the Bible, which is good too. I would have to agree that it is important to look at the whole picture rather than pick out a tiny bit out of context. Definitely too easy to manipulate when we do that. There are definite themes and lessons that run throughout th... view book
