about me

I’ve always written. I never put it together into a book until recently, and what you will see here is my umpteenth effort. I thought I had a book in me. I had several. I wrote for eight years and the result is about to impress you.

Perhaps impress you is too large an aspiration. Please join the countless people who have told me these books are impossible to put down, or, to mix a metaphor or two, “put them down” so that I give up the idea of publishing them.

All I ask is that you be honest and sincere. I want opinions not false praise and adulation. My wife gives me plenty of that. She is also my best critic. Join her. Read my books.

With hat in hand I humbly as that you read my books. A boy thirteen years old wrote them, so they are riddled with grammatical errors, perhaps just enough to give the impression that a boy wrote them. Please tell me if I managed to pull the ruse off or if they are indeed literary trash.

As the boy grows, his grammar improves though mine did not [blush] help me bring these books to the top so HC will read them.

I will be forever indebted to you, though I am not too good at the quid pro quo thing.

I will help as I can, but if the only way you will read my book is if we swap, then, thanks, but no thanks. I don’t swap, I read and comment on what I can as I can. Time is precious and I can’t commit large blocks of it to incomplete stories.

In two complete books I have posted ten times the word total most have. I can’t get anyone to read more than a few paragraphs and ask for a swap. Ten readers means that I read ten incomplete stories while they do me the courtesy of scanning a few chapters and comment as they stumble into something they find cute, offensive or both as some would and have.

I do thank you for reading what you read and being confused by it. It tells me Luke did all right.

As to how long it will stay on your backed list, that falls into that abyss of how much is one willing to spread oneself thin enough to read a ton of incomplete manuscripts and juggle them through the month until they get a gold star or fall off the cherished top five.

My book has been in as many as six shelves, however, at the moment, with two, count'em, two new backers since yesterday, it is on one backed shelf according to the stats… imagine that.

Who dropped me, you or the other guy?

favourite books

Too many to list, which only means that I like a lot of material, or that I am a little indecisive.

You decide.

The World According to Luke: B....

R E Kelly

The year: 2027. Armageddon happened … fifteen years ago. How many survived? At least four people to begin the story...

Society collapsed. A boy with a sense of future began writing the events of his life with the few people he knew.

Luke, a lanky, very strong boy lived a solitary existence with his grandfather for thirteen years. During that time, a series of drifters passed by and stayed with them, until they got greedy or tired. The latest pair of strangers was different. In late summer, Michael and Luke ran into two females, the first women Luke had ever seen. He was too young when his mother died. They stayed and the world he knew began to broaden, first slowly, later, by leaps and bounds.

This series of books will take you into the world of the unexpected, as it is impossible for any of us ever to imagine this society ending, especially in such a small, yet very plausible scenario. It is written, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Could this be how that happens?

Perhaps a few kind suggestions may help you edit this rough draft into something akin to a book. I suggest that you end a sentence in the same tense you start it. It is easaier on the eyes of your readers, not to mention, their mental states. Avoid redundancies, repeating the same words over and ove... view book

There is a longing that lasts long enough to give the reader a deep heartache, followed by the lust-filled moments between sentences. There is control, and thought, and a mastery of the written desire that takes the reader into the pages and makes him long along with the padre's longing. The... view book

The language gets better as the story moves along and the readers get a rythm in their minds as to each of the character's tone of voice. The the command of the alnguage is more about their being alone and using shortcuts witheach other which have become habits as time passed. If you read far en... view book

Thank you, and yes, your questions will be answered in the course of 59000+ words if you go that far, AND another 50 something thousand if you read book two then I might have book three posted nad you will get a totally different new idea as to how the world will end, we are perilously close to ... view book

Hi Y'all, With Luke being thirteen, the dialogue comes from his view point. There are a few repetitions of things throughout the book simply to maintain the illusion of "LUKE" When Laura begins to fall for Michael, the only thing Luke can say is that she is giving him "goofy looks" for how is... view book
