Zaile paid the price for turning against her Master, with her life. Reborn into a forest as corrupt and evil as her former Master, she must escape it to retain her new form of freedom.
Zaile soon finds herself with the very people she usted to hunt and kill. A seer who knows much about Zaile and tells little, one of the gifted 'Nine' whose power drives him to Zaile. A young girl who seems so familiar, yet Zaile cannot place her and a warrior strangely left alive after a brutal attack by the Navile.
