Aethunium - A Steampunk Story

Kirk Haggerty

A newly discovered crystal can warp time and space.
It exists in a mine in England, and the Prussians want it!

Rupert Mueller Freiherr von Landheim, is a forty-year-old widower and an agent in an alternative steampunk Kaiserreich Germany. He is about to receive the biggest assignment of his life. A mysterious batch of history-transforming crystals has been found in a coal mine in Birmingham. The Kaiser believes the crystals can warp time and space, which would render the British Empire invincible. Mueller’s job is to steal them!

Join us on a special mission through Victorian England and Kaiser Wilhelm Germany as Rupert Mueller, a classy spy who loves cigars and scotch, travels with his flying motorcar to restore the balance of power, and perhaps even find a new mother for his four-year-old daughter.

An adventurous steampunk story which has all the elements to draw readers - of any generation.

The Notorious Expat Wives

Kirk Haggerty

It's a hard life as an expat wife - but how far does Pam have to go to get noticed?

When sports teacher Pamela has to move from the U.S. to Germany because of her husband’s job she finds herself going crazy with loneliness.

Comfort is at hand when an accidental meeting with Jill, an expat from the UK, introduces her to a church women’s home group and finds new friends.

The women grow closer as they realize that they share the same problems: the kids have integrated into the new lifestyle and culture; the husbands are constantly busy, leaving their wives frustrated.

Independently, each finds solace on an internet chat site: "The Notorious Expat Wives”, where they are exposed to new temptations.

When an elderly member in their circle dies, and the group leader has to leave Germany, the women decide to seek their husbands' attention in more dramatic ways, but with disastrous consequences.

What do the royal bed of King Ludwig the Mad, a gargoyle at the Cologne Cathedral, and a pitch invasion at a football match have in common?

A domino effect of copy cat crimes begins and the police all over Germany now fear a different type of “Notorious Expat Wives”!

How to Steal a Lion

Kirk Haggerty

Cool assignment for a journalist: Steal a lion statue in the middle of the Oktoberfest for a million euros. Do you accept?

Daniel is a journalism student at the University in Munich and is desperate for work. Against his better judgment he accepts a job from a mysterious investor, Herr Wolff, to do a simple task to build trust. Afterwards, Herr Wolff asks him to undertake a sensational publicity stunt: steal the Dompteur lion from the top of its thirty seven metre tower during the Oktoberfest for a reward of one million euros.

For the next few days, Daniel and three friends prepare for the most unusual and difficult feat of their lives, and the most audacious the city has ever seen - snatch a one-ton, four-metre high mechanical beast and replace it with a rubber dummy. But why is Wolff willing to pay so much, and what happens if Daniel and his friends get caught?

For Daniel it’s not just the money that motivates him. It’s the opportunity to write the story of a lifetime regardless of the outcome.

A good college romp and caper story about friendship, teamwork and a second chance in life.

Hi Raj, Wanted to give your book a lookover. Just as you wanted; No mercy and putting praise on the shelf - so to speak. "Don't worry," said the dentist, "it won't hurt ... too much." Book cover is interesting but not convincing enough. It looks like someone is smelting iron underneath a tank... view book

Hi Elizabeth, Finally I have some time to read some chapters in your book. I wasn't disappointed at all! I think you have a very funny family comedy story. I chuckled on the first page of chapter one; about the ultra-sound check and penguin saliva, (that was good). Twins - oh my, double trouble... view book

Hi Julie, What an honor to be your first comment giver. This is a really cool chick-lit romance, with musicians and gigs and all. The first-person narrative works well in the story. Couldn't find any particular spelling, punctuation or grammar errors, (at least not on the first read). Had to back... view book

Hi Jennifer, Finally have a moment to read and comment. Who could resist a classic Western novel -- especially when it's well written like yours :-) The writing is smooth, reminding me a little of the works of Louis L’Amour. I can easily image Clint Eastwood ridng into the scene to save the day,... view book

Hi Stacey, Finally got a little time to read your story. I like it. At first I thought of Little Mermaid or Aquaman or Waterworld, but you got something very original and that's great to read. I like the first-person narrative and how you aim the story to a younger audience (teens I guess). I also... view book
