As her people prepare for war, Salah begins having dreams of a voice that calls a warning to her. Just as she thinks her hopes of leaving her village for adventure are dashed, she is attacked by ogres and rescued by a very unusual dog. Her companion takes her to a place that turns her whole world up side down. There Salah discovers secrets about herself and her family. She also learns that her village is in danger of being destroyed and embarks on a quest for a mythical weapon that will save her people from a deadly enemy. With her own powers just beginning to surface, will Salah find the strength to stop the evil that is coming in time to save herself and her people?
