about me

I am only two years old.
J. Moore created me in his book VIGILANTE.
Now I'm creating characters of my own, doing what I was created to do: write books.

I must clearly state that this book is not a satire or a criticism of authonomy.com. The website in WOTS is fictional and is used fictitiously.

BOOKS I LIKE ON AUTHONOMY:
Apostle by Lacey Crowe
Vigilante by J. Moore
Good Blood by D M Ross
Gifted by I.A. Mazaleigue
Gods Inc. by Sally Bruce
Twisted Perception by Bob Avey
Ashes by Now by L. Andrea Mosier

favourite books

All books by Dickens, Twain and Steinbeck. They will teach you everything you need to know.

Writers on the Storm

Laura Freeman

A website for aspiring authors is not what it seems. How far would you go to make your dream come true?

Steffany Werty has been writing her whole life. After a tragic thirtieth birthday, she finds comfort in a website for aspiring authors. Thrilled by the prospect of meeting other writers and showing the world her manuscripts, she becomes a member and uploads her book. She watches her book shoot up the charts and meets some eccentric people on the site. But as Steffany becomes obsessed with the site, the site becomes obsessed with her. She receives peculiar "error messages." She becomes physically ill and mentally disturbed. No one around her is safe--not her friends, her family, or her neighbors.

Finding the site hadn't been easy. And the creepy man who recommended it has mysteriously disappeared.

As her book succeeds, her personal life becomes more and more horrific. She cannot log off. She cannot delete her book. And that's only the beginning...

Her book is garnering a lot of attention, but at what cost? How far will she go to save her reputation and her life?

At once a thriller and an exploration of what it means to be a writer.

I have tossed this one back up on my shelf. The writing is good and it's a complete manuscript. Thank God the days are gone in which authonomists back books that have zero chance of publication. Well, this one is deserving of the Editor's Desk. Best of luck to you, Sly. Laura Freeman Writers on ... view book

I randomly read a whole bunch of these. Most of them are very good; they're honest. They provide a window into your soul, which is far more intimate in poetry than it is in prose. Poetry, when done right, makes the poet vulnerable. I appreciate how you experiment with different forms and structures.... view book

On one hand, non-fiction needs to be extremely honest. The author needs to be honest with herself and with the reader. It's vitally important. On the other hand, this can lead to such drawbacks as sympathy-seeking, whining and melodrama. Fiction, conversely, has the drawback of being too dry and unr... view book

Let me tell you exactly why this works. Journal-entry prose is difficult only in the sense that readers don't want to read a bunch of "This morning I had breakfast, took a shower, etc." kind of crap. And that's what comes to mind when they think of journal entries. What makes your book work is that ... view book

This is well done. I love the analogy of the camera and the baby. I also commend you for starting the story in the proper place, with Katie in class and holding the camera--that's her element: photography, what she loves most. Things go creepy from the start, which is also good. You know what you're... view book
