Absentee Bidder

Miguel Lamiel

Goddesses are in his pocket. Women are in his heart. Doubt lives in his soul. The world weighs on his shoulders. He is not alone.

Paul is a grounded antiques dealer whose only trouble, until now, has been balancing an estranged wife, and the odd mistress. After buying three crudely carved figurines at an auction, he is plunged into a mission relayed from Neolithic times. This purchase could unleash events so potent as to change our collective consciousness.

No longer will he be rooted in a material configuration, but rather in those tense vibrations of things to come. With the help of Fox, an improbable acolyte, Paul's quest draws him to Canada, France and India. Bloody corpses stain his shadow as he attempts to unravel the Grand Awakening. "Mother, will you come back?"

'Absentee Bidder' weaves through millennia of blood, intrigue and revelation.

Hi, Aitor This is a mesmerizing read. I am a lover of Historical fiction... and you certainly grabbed my attention. I love the narrative voice. The use of relatively short sentences with a beautiful cadence pushes us along. Where I am not as convinced is the dialogue. It sounds a bit stilted/... view book

You are very driven to diffuse your enlightened journey. Whether I believe or not is inconsequential to my enjoyment of this type of prose. It has the energetic cadence of a military march. If you want it to be read by a more mainstream audience and not to the already convinced....you should light... view book

'Saving Starfish' is a magnetic read that builds up a momentum akin to a distant army one hears approaching. Great story. You show Albert very well as a sensitive artist in contrast with the more patriotic brothers in a troubled era. The family, the wartime, the bucolic village setting are descr... view book

Finnegan's characterization is strong and charming. A fox dressed up, and going to see his guru. Though at first I was recalcitrant to entering this fantasy world, as this is not what I usually read, I was pleasantly drawn in. There's a nonchalant mood that I enjoy, though adventures are on their... view book

A clear an easy read, because it is well structured and in understandable language....of course the occasional humor helps. As a Canadian I find it interesting to compare healthcare. Nicely done. Miguel Absentee Bidder view book
