about me

I live in Florida. Am the mother of 5 wonderful children. Will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year. Love gardening and anything outdoors. My favorite genres are Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I read from many other genres as well.
I came to this site, not to be part of a cookie club, but to learn and grow. I hope that you will find the parts of my books that need improvement and let me know. Of course, I'd like to hear the parts you like too so that I can see what I did right and move that to the parts that need fixing. Thank you, Dennise

Second Chances

Dennise Sleeper

Married to the man of her dreams, Kate never expected to run into her soul mate.

A chance to travel in space. A dream since Kate was about 8 years old. Now married to her sweetheart, Dave, with three children, Kate wonders if she should chance a trip with Theodore? Somehow, he's familiar. Like she's known him all her life. Is she safe with him? What about her life here on Earth? So many questions to weigh against her lifelong dream.

Summer Vacation

Dennise Sleeper

Brandon changed his parents lives when he was born. They've been hiding a secret for the past 17 years right under the governments nose.

Have you ever had to deal with a curse? I mean a real curse. You know, like if the wrong people find out, you may be used as part of their diabolical plan. I was born with this curse and although my parents have adjusted and accepted this state of affairs, I can see their excitement as I start preparing to leave for college. This will be my last summer at home. You see, I am ending my junior year in high school, about ready begin my senior year. I see it in their eyes, one more year; only one more year. Next summer I’ll leave for Florida State University. I’m going to be a meteorologist. I’m great at predicting rain. Maybe I should introduce myself before we go much further. I am Brandon, son of Nicole and Kirk Bedford. I suffer some of the more common curses of adolescence; pimples all over my face, braces and I’m clumsy. But these aren’t the curse.

Thank you. I've been working on it off and on. I think my writing course has helped it a lot, but the assignments get in the way. I've redone the first 12 chapters. Will upload when I get a chance. view book

Chapter 1 Oh, the impatience of youth. Nice descriptions. Good insight. I enjoyed traveling with Carly as the countryside unfolded. I feel her anxiousness as she embarks on this stage of her life. Dennise Second Chances & Summer Vacation view book

Chapter 3 Love the names of the people and land. Engaging dialog and descriptions. At the end there are a couple of things that bother me. His father was strung and bled to death, then the last sentence of the next paragraph said pretty much the same things. I recommend rewording the second referenc... view book
