about me

Hello all, I'm back again with my second book, A Touch of France.

I have put pen to paper again and I'm looking for feedback please.
I have an opportunity to submit to a publisher, who enjoyed 'Faking it in France' but sadly as it wasn't enough about France, her company couldn't consider it for publishing. She has agreed to read my second book, which is all about France! So, (holds her breath) I need some HONEST feedback not massaging my ego,or though I am partial to that too, so don't hold back... What I want to know is does it read well? What's the pace like? Do you like it, any bits that jar with you, I know it will hurt but this is my one shot to impress and I have a few weeks to tweak it. Remember it's chick lit travel humour not hard fiction!

or checking out my website. Please do not spam me with requests to read your books I like to pick and choose for myself. However I do return reads quickly and will be happy to do swaps, especially with anyone who is in the same genres as me, please no YA or science fiction horror vampire werewolf books, thanks to you all,
Karen x

A Touch of France

Karen Bates

Embracing France and all things French, Karen tries to rekindle her love for the country that captured her heart ten years ago.

Life in Normandy had always been full of ups and downs, and frankly, lately the downs were outweighing the ups.
With the sale of 'Hotel Marion' falling through, Karen decides it's not too late to rekindle her love affair with France.
Making the best of a bad situation she sets out to embrace the land that she and her family had made their home over ten years ago. Finally coming to terms with the language, locals, crazy expats and to her surprise, almost fitting in.

What a punchy first chapter, you have really set off with all guns blazing and this is a powerful start! I have only had the time to read the first chapter but have W/L your book to return to and in the meantime have given you high stars. Karen A Touch of France. view book

I recently met Carole Matthew's who told me that her books with chocolate in the title have sold ten times more than her other books - so I think you are on to a winner! It's a great combination of sex and chocolate and with your funny comedic style, this is a great chick lit read. High stars from ... view book

I was hooked by the pitch and wasn't disappointed, this is a wonderful story. The atmosphere and pace is just right. I was intrigued to know what the secret is and will certainly read more of your book, so for now high stars and on my W/L Karen A Touch of France. view book
