about me

careless, crass and cavalier, i spelunk twine-free into most anything literary if i think i've the time. genres i try to avoid are high fantasy and autobiographies, as it's very difficult to believe in either. i'm not above contradiction, however; both classifications line the bottom of my favorites.

to get me to read your work: be interesting and let me find you in my own way or, if you can't wait, comment on what i've got. the second is a guarantee, but don't expect a one-liner to buy my time... unless it's a really good one.

“swap” requests are probably a no-go, but i definitely won’t respond to a propaganda campaign, as i think we’re all proud adults here and it’s a lot more than presumptuous to think your schlock is better than mine simply because you bombed the entire neighborhood with leaflets. i am a deeply-flawed person and might take offense to your lack of grace by frowning at your avatar forever more.

i leave reviews hesitantly, if at all, not much caring to rehash joe and jane bookworm's generic statements on how comic or tragic your tome-in-progress turned out. i'm even less excited to do what spell check does better, preferring to read around minor errors to get at what i think you're trying to say.

if i do add to your comments, fret not, i don't expect any kind of compensation for doing something i willingly chose to do. that being said, if you don't like my opinion, i'd prefer you carried out any retalitory clicks on your own while keeping your on-site friends holstered. i'm not going to like everything i see, nor back everything i like, but at the very least you're getting some number of stars if i think i have the right to judge.

i'm actually judging you right now. feel that? judgment, all of it.

The trouble with our times is that the future is not what it used to be.

Garret Casimir has just unveiled his thesis creation, the light accelerator, beating out the labors of his peers for a dream position with a successful research firm. The simple red tube that hastens energy will all but guarantee the fruitful career he’s striven for since adolescence. Life is good.

Across campus, Robert Augustine is coming to grips with a much less inspiring future. Having semesters ago resorted to daytime court dramas in place of a dream now in the final stages of decay, the ever-looming prospect of settling for a less-preferred path in life coincides with the nearing departure of his talented roommate.

But given access to infinite universes, where literally any outcome is possible; even a laughable prospect like fate has its due somewhere.

****************************

Darkly comic, 'hard' science fiction. Within are extreme acts of violence, strong language, metaphysical ponderings, polysyllabic vernacular and a couple of overt references to other sins. Have your premises assessed beforehand.

Third draft is nearly complete at around 85,000 or some-odd words, many of which are available here to pan.

there's something to be said for the outlook of a child, especially in regards to the sinister undertones of a controversial system of rule. i think this is an effective means of getting the information across in large chunks, and mainly because it's very believable for a child to throw out informa... view book

a plot that 'only happens in the movies or bad novels.' talk about throwing lawn darts at a ninety-degree angle. this alone is enough intrigue to lure the reader on to chapter 1. so i didn't catch it at first, but lenin is a bit older than i thought. while i think that, by itself, would risk d... view book

initially, i'm thinking you've thrown too many characters at me too fast. though the further i read, the more i see you've settled on mostly cara and jason. i think drama is itself something that requires more than a chapter to pull off effectively, at least from this reader's standpoint, but i al... view book

in gcg, you've put together an inviting blend of sci-fi and urban grime, then set in a future that rightly parodies today's hazards of technology. from the onset, i'm thrown into a world of pregnant men and victims of addictively interactive digital distractions. and as i skipped the introduction ... view book
