about me

By way of introduction, my name is Robert Sherwood. I am a semi-retired Silicon valley technology executive. For the last 15 years, I have been engaged by more than 30 prominent law firms to act as a federal court approved expert witness on major technology litigation.

I selected 4 of my most fascinating cases and I am writing historical fiction stories about each. The first story is complete- “In My Opinion”; the second is titled “The Brain Brokers;” the third is “The Healer and the fourth has no working title yet. I have been working on the stories for 5 years. I finished IMO in December. I had 30 independent readers read the manuscript. They liked it.

Each story has 3 main characters-(i) David Dawson, single, international traveler, a G5 flying, 930 Porsche driving, mild mannered expert witness from Silicon Valley, (ii) Dr. Mathew Zimmerman, single, NYU. Stanford graduate, patent holder, “Dr. Z” scientist, analyst iPhone, PC expert, and (iii) Helen Sheperd, single, beautiful sensuous, partner, with more commons sense than anyone else.

Dawson has made millions in Silicon Valley. He only takes cases that he believes will make a positive difference in the world-sort of a Don Quixote fellow without the horse. Each story has a different industrial setting.

I have just added the second Dawson story to Authonomy. I hope you like reading it as much as I like telling it.

THE BRAIN BROKERS

Robert J. Sherwood

In this second story, Dawson's path crosses with a billionaire Greek geneticist who tries to control the smartest people in America.

In this story, Dawson uncovers a scheme to track and control the lives of the smartest people in America. Maggie Sawyer a 12 year old girl, who scored a perfect score on the college entrance exams, is kidnapped and held for ransom. Maggie’s grandfather, James Sawyer knows the identities of the famous 1521 subjects who took part in the 1921 Terman study of profoundly gifted Americans.

Although it was 90 years ago, the Terman subject’s grandchildren, like Maggie, are all valuable commodities to be traded between nations and international corporations. Intelligence is the commodity war that replaces the cold war of the 80’s.

Dawson’s path crosses with a dangerous billionaire Greek geneticist who launches a program to identify all people with an IQ greater than 150. From Darwin’s theory of evolution to challenging basic DNA understandings, the story engages the reader in genuine issues of personal privacy and in elist theories of government.

D&Z partners with Dawson team up with Jonathan Hawthorn, the retired charismatic Alaska Governor to rescue Maggie and protect the identities of the smartest Americans from The Brain Brokers.

IN MY OPINION: The PM Note

Robert J. Sherwood

In My Opinion is a fast-paced techno-conspiracy thriller with exciting characters who capture your imagination. This story could be happening today.

David Dawson is, a single, G5 jet flying, 930 Porsche driving international traveler, and expert witness from Silicon Valley. Dawson has two associates: Dr. Matthew Zimmerman, resident genius and technology wizard; and Helen Shepherd, a beautiful sensuous woman with extraordinary common sense.

In this story, Dawson uncovers a dangerous insider-trading plot. The treacherous plot is controlled by two men: a German Prince, Alexander Vial-Rothstein, and an American businessman, Ed Werner. They use unique technology to access confidential information located in high security government offices around the world, including Alaska.

Dawson meets the charismatic Governor of Alaska, Jonathan Hawthorne, who has just advised the President that Alaska is seceding from America, and intends to return the oil riches of Alaska back to the Alaskan citizens.

Dawson persuades Hawthorne to join forces and use the Alaskan secession threat to save America and destroy the insider-trading scheme. The story moves around the world: from Alaska to Washington, to Paris and Iran before ending in the skies above New York’s Kennedy International.

In My Opinion is a fast-paced thriller with exciting characters who capture your imagination. This story could happen tomorrow or today.
