about me

I'm crazy at heart, not really sound in mind, but somehow the people that should know better licensed me to be a therapist.

If you love reading tales of dysfunctional romance and/or have a morbid sense of humor, be sure to check out "Blogging About Nathan and Other Jerks."

I return all reads with honest and helpful (hopefully) feedback.

The first novel I ever wrote, The Siren's Heart, made Amazon's ABNA Quarterfinals! (That was the top 100 of its category--out of 10,000 yay!)

During its time here, The Siren's Heart received a lot of great feedback that helped it become a much stronger story. Thank you so much, fellow authonomites! Now I'm banging out a final edit with hopes to have the manuscript published soon.

There's a finished sequel, but I can't post it anywhere because it's absolutely ridden with spoilers!

Love, Alchemy is my third novel, but the first outside of the siren series. More "new adult" than young adult, it's a work in progress.

I'll take feedback on either. Thanks for reading!

Daveigh is a troubled teenager, struggling with problems at home and at school. Meeting Adam brings a change she could have never dreamed of.

Twin Creek is a small town with big problems. Daveigh Little has lived in there all her life. Once a promising student, she now finds herself stuck in a downward spiral of drugs, sex, and violence. Then she meets Adam. Suspicious of him at first, Daveigh learns to trust. Then she learns to love. The kindred touch of another human becomes a catalyst for change in her damaged world. But there's one problem. Adam isn't human.

The Siren's Heart

Eden Ashley

Surging veins crept like black spiders from the corners of her eyes, transforming the surrounding skin...the human form would soon be lost...

Sirens in mythology were sensual maidens, famed for luring sailors to their deaths with beauty and song. Kalista Mett is a real siren. She feeds on the energy of any living thing. The ability to create and control fire makes her far more dangerous. And she walks the earth among humans.

From the instant she meets the stranger with unworldly eyes, Kali knows there is something special between them. But she doesn’t remember Rhane or anything from their past. As far as Kali knows, she's just a seventeen-year-old kid coping with an insatiable hunger for the “spark” or energy of others, feeding on classmates to survive.

When a unique artifact—one that may hold the key to returning Kali’s memories—is uncovered by the archaeology firm where she works part-time, Kali and Rhane end up on a dangerous journey that leads them to the Forbidden City, into the unforgiving Gobi, and into the ruins of Rhane’s ancient homeland. As they fight for survival, Kali begins to discover who she really is and the true power she possesses. But Rhane still harbors a secret that could destroy Kali…unless old enemies kill her first.

YARG I have to say, right off the bat, very cool idea. It's kind of reminiscent of Rapunzel, but still manages to come off as original. And overall, it's well written. Here are a few things to consider for your first chapter. Why I read only one chapter is included at the bottom... Chapter 1 ... view book

After reading this, I can see how fans of the swords and sorcery epics would react favorable to your novels. Other than a few awkward sentences and missing punctuation (gosh, those commas!) Firelord's Heir seems to be cleanly edited. I have to admit that the last chapter of Book 1 would've have ... view book

YARG review Arrival of the Ageless You've almost reached the editor's desk--congrats on that! Since, you've already gotten tons of comments and feedback on grammar and proofreading stuff, I won't bother with that. Overall, I really liked how you jumped straight into the action, working backstor... view book

I don't typically comment on pitches, but something really stood out to me in yours. Every sentence, except one, begins with "The." A little bit of variety would go a long way towards improving the readability of the overall pitch. Breaking up some of those super long sentences by making several sho... view book

YARG review Cold Grey Your writing is very clean, with few errors in punctuation or grammatical mistakes. There's a ton of sentence fragments, but I'm going to go out on a short limb and say that's your intended style. So, great job with the editing! A few phrasings that I particularly enjoyed ... view book
