Murder, betrayal and a long lost sword rumored to be a king maker. What does it have to do with a girl with amnesia?
When fourteen year old Madeline was sent to her uncle's to live, everyone, including her best friend and secret love, thought it was a good idea. As a girl with a fractured memory from an accident that stole her parents from her, and a fractious personality from her unstable life in foster care, everyone thought she could use some stability and a lesson in manners.
However, along with the lessons in manners, she learns she just might be the main ingredient to a recipe for murder.
With her friends help, she must evade her uncle's clutches and take her rightful place as the one who will bring together the four warring sides of a race of beings known in different tongues as "The People" and fight off the threat of a tyrant gaining control over it all.
But first she has to remember who she was, what happened that day when her parent's died, and why someone stole all her magic.
A sword rumored to be a king maker, lost for 1200 years, seems to hold the answers, but she doesn't remember where it is, or even what it has to do with her.
