about me

Thanks to everyone who helped get Together Apart to the desk - really appreciated.

I'm in my early late twenties, from London (Sheffield originally) and I work in Employee Relations (lots of arguing with the trade unions...don't blame me when they strike and you can't get to work!).

I love reading and devour books. If it's good it'll be read in a day. My favourite genre is chick-lit, the type with a bit of grit and drama. Also like thrillers and anything with humour, but I'll read anything if it's written well.

*******
-IMPORTANT- If I owed you a return read, you'll have to let me know. I've lost my spreadsheet with all the return read info so I'm not being rude, I just don't know who you are!

Hi Matthew Sorry for the delay returning the read! OK, this is not my usual genre for reading, so I did struggle a bit with the fantasy element. I found some of the dialogue a bit stilted, and also a touch unbelievable. For example, when Reaver and his squad members first meet the elders, he f... view book

Paddy, Please, please slap me. I am SO sorry it's taken so long to return the read, and annoyed because I really LOVED this! OK, your pitch felt a little bit clumpy in places, but that's the only bad thing I have to say. I've read all 5 chapters and you literally had me laughing out loud in place... view book

Hi Amie Love your pitch, but the cover not so much. It doesn't really say anything about the story, so I don't think I'd have read it based on the cover alone. Having said that, this is clearly a case of making the wrong judgement based on a cover. Really good prologue. There is some slight re... view book

Very cute book!! Nicely written for children too. My only observations were that I thought Mara and Jane seemed a touch older than 4...maybe 6 or so. Also, 'the mom' confused me a little, and also, the dialogue tags...I know it's a childrens book but it felt a bit excessive having tags on every bit ... view book
