about me

Want to live a life of luxury; so I can get on with my travels and books. If only the taxman could see it from my point of view.

Been a member of Authonomy since April 2009, but got locked in a computer spiral which could only be resolved by Authonomy removing me from the site and then I had to rejoin. Nice to be back and to see there are still good books being posted.

My main genre is Historical Fiction. I will back others but not interested in horror, SF and fantasy.

favourite books

Historical Novels by Bernard Cornwell and the like
Frederick Forsyth,Wilbur Smith, Jeffrey Archer, etc -good research and story.

Kathy. This is a well polished and intriguing work. Well written and worth a place on my shelf. view book

Robert. You could consider editing the first chapter so the reader is taken straight to the narrative. It may look fine on a hard copy but on a screen it requires quite a bit of scrolling down to get to it. Good Luck. view book

Shay. I think this can be very good but, with all books, quite a bit of editing will help. My first reaction is that the Prologue could be dispensed with, it doesn't add anything to the story other than a short history lesson for the reader to go through. There are so many books on this site you hav... view book

John. This is very good and, knowing the IoW, it is easy to picture it as it must have been all those years ago with the age of innocence. One nit pick , given your MC's age and the era, grandfather swearing may not have sat well with the times, you may consider 'cursing' instead. Look forward to re... view book

I like this, the writing is very good. The descriptions and the introduction of the characters are subtle and it flows well. Slight nit pick, being in Caen, France is it necessary to state that the cheese is French? Good luck. view book
