about me

Okay, so I have done some editing and split the book in two, thus I have also adjusted the pitches.

Blind Fate is the first of three YA Fantasy books.

Please be honest and constructive with feedback.

Thanks

In terms of reading, generally speaking I am a Fantasy and Young Adult reader. I hasten to add that, for me, YA means the main characters are in their late teens. I struggle to constructively review books with younger protagonists.

I have experimented outside of these genres but I am always drawn back in, it seems. Therefore please bear that in mind when asking for reviews.

I will return any constructive read you do on Blind Fate but I have often found reviews outside my comfort zones tend to be off the mark slightly. You have been warned! :)

I will not return backings so please do not ask. I base backing on whether I think the book is close to publishable or not.

I like to read things properly before I make comments but I don't have a lot of time to read so please don't expect instant replies to requests. I will fulfill every request though...eventually.

Blind Fate

Danielle Pollok

Fate took drastic measures, now Destiny is using the loop hole to set in motion something that could make or break the human race.

Some 200 years ago the Fates took a drastic step to stop a war that no thread within the pattern of their world could end. Now, when that world faces a war of a different kind, the Lady of the Light takes advantage of the hole they created in the universe and changes the lives of seven lost souls.

In the instant that Rianne’s mundane life is turned upside down she finds herself ripped from the world she knows and plunged into a world on the brink of war they don’t see coming. As the Dark Lord creeps closer to an escape Rianne and her band of unintentional heroes struggle to find their place in a world entirely unfamiliar to them.

When the chance to go home and leave this craziness behind comes up will they take it? Will a part in a threatening war be more appealing than the life back home? Rianne was born to this role but she must face the man that put her there before she can truly embrace it.

Gail, I have found the time to spare your book as promised. I find the characters intriguing and the mystery you maintain keeps the reader wanting more. There were a couple of points where I thought too much information spoiled the flow slighted. For eaxample, cahpter 1 'fuel effiecient little ... view book

Emma, Returning your read on Blind Fate. The Puppet Spell intrigued me from the start, despite my aversion to anything with the word Fey in it! Not sure where that prejudice comes from but I liked your pitch. You describe things very clearly without spending time and words on it. I didn't f... view book

Tod, Return Read as promised, though I warn you I stopped at chapter 3 when my adult brain baled out on the slightly silly getting rediculous! That's why I don't generally comment on children's books. That said, I made some notes which may or may not be of use. Firstly, I don't see the poin... view book

Sam, I found your book on the lending library. I really like the flow of the prose. Eliza has a little spunk, which I like and she also shows a bit of the fear she is feeling leaving everything she knows. I like the mystery surrounding Ryan, although I am not always convinced by Eliza being ab... view book

Phil, I found you on the lending library forum thread and I have to say the pitch sucked me in - so that can't be bad! :) I enjoyed reading this. The chapters are a nice length (I read the prologue and first two chapters for now). I really don't have a lot of coment to make. I think your ch... view book
