about me

I live north of London with my husband. I am semi-retired and work part-time now so I have more time on my hands. I am here as a reader. I grew up in a pub and my family say I should write my life story. I enjoy making new discoveries and I have already found some gems here.
My particular weakness is to trawl around car boot sales making discoveries.
I've made some wonderful discoveries here, too.

What a beautiful voice you have developed, E.J. The title immediately drew my attention. It sounds like a really deep, thought provoking film title. Your style is very natural and easy to read. The words just flow off the page and it is clearly not over-written. How refreshing to see adverbs used to... view book

Nick, you have created the perfect read for me. I love the mystery, the gorgeous setting and the fabulous characters. Your plot is wickedly fine. Where She Lies was an excellent book when it first appeared but it has transformed into a masterpiece. This is a book that will be read and talked about f... view book

A book of beautifully observed relationships and subtly described characters. I would love to have a little bit more description of the setting and characters early on to build the scenes but that's just me. I prefer 'all right' to 'alright' but again that's me. This is confident, well-assured writi... view book

Nick I think you have struck just the right balance between description, action and dialogue. Having returned to read this I can see it has been polished to perfection, as others have noted. I adore your characters and feel strong emotions through them. Although I find the sections with Blisset and... view book
