about me

I write murder mystery games for a living and teach creative writing in the Cotswolds where I live.
Walk Away was my first novel and is now published on Amazon as an ebook.
I'm currently working on book two, When You and Me Were Us, and posting chapters as I edit them in the hope people will read them and give me some feedback.

When You and Me Were Us

Amanda Reynolds

Six friends meet at Reading University in 1982. Thirty years on the remaining five friends have moved on, some more than others.

Ginny is trapped by inertia in a loving but boring marriage and resents her husband for not being the real love of her life.
Lois has given up everything for her career but now finds her position precarious, hounded by hungry graduates snapping at her heels.
Matty has finally managed to exorcise the ghosts of the past and move on, recently finding happiness with his much younger wife and their baby but the demands of fatherhood are taking their toll and his wife hasn't even heard of Prefab Sprout.
Alex, as much of a mess as she was at Uni, drinks and acts as she did thirty years ago, it’s just now it’s not acceptable.
Strange and creepy Nick, who never quite justified his inclusion in the group but has clung to it over three decades of depression and medication.
Devon watches and waits, the only one who realises the true significance of this final reunion.

Walk Away

Amanda Reynolds

A desperate mother plans her own murder as an act of twisted revenge against the man she believes is responsible for her son's disappearance.

Five years ago fourteen year old Jack East caught the bus home from school, walked down a country lane and vanished. His mother Sherry has never recovered, her life poisoned by grief. Gray Cummings is a man with a past, ambitious, arrogant and afraid. When their worlds collide it looks like a simple hit and run accident. But as DCI Julia Miles often tells her dishy younger Sergeant, Matthews, things are never that simple. What if Sherry deliberately walked in front of Gray’s car? Was she really executing her own murder? What is the connection between Sherry and Gray? Could he have something to do with her son’s disappearance? But Sherry survived the collision and now she is denying any knowledge of Gray and he is on the run from the police. Set in the sleepy village of Gothen, nestling in the Cotswolds Hills, Walk Away is a modern murder mystery. We follow Matthews and Julia as they flirt and eat their way through the investigation. They search for Gray and in doing so finally uncover what happened to Jack East and why his mother chose Gray Cummings as her murderer.

Thanks for reading it & your comments, I think you're right about the pitch so I've changed it. The editing is on-going as I upload new chapters - there are now five chapters uploaded and chapter six going up later - enjoy! view book

Thanks for your review, it's so lovely that people are reading the book. I've never read The Big Chill so any resemblance is purely coincidental but I shall it as a compliment anyway! Many thanks. view book
