about me

I'm a nurse by day: a writer by night. I'm a passenger observing life.

I've been writing since I could read alone. Somewhere between the pages of a thick hardback, I have one of my first stories, tied together with a piece pink wool. In the last few years I've started writing short fiction, with my dream still in mind: to complete a novel, publish it and continue the cycle.

The Junk Room is my first complete YA novel, written last year during the madness of NaNo 2011.

16/2/13 Am editing for a bit.

YALF Ch2- I like the scene where Feyt knocks the knife whilst putting on his coat. These little things add to the feel of the home. So he's gone to the bonfire where the fun is short lived by the attack by the wolves. I like the 'red' symbolism used, maybe to foreshadow the deaths in the huts. ... view book

YARG I keep hearing great things about The Game Changer. I've read chapters 1-3 and I must agree. People often say, write about what you know, and it seems you know your outdoors, and describe it sooooo well. Ch1- At first I was thinking, Tom's going OTT with the weather report, but it's to bu... view book

YALF Intriguing short pitch about an Ice City that turns to flesh. That's creepy. I think the time scale that you'll be dealing with this action - when they turn to flesh - will really keep readers hooked. Ch1- Good first paragraph full of imagery of the hunt, how cold it is and the smell of ... view book
