Irish American Tales

Eddie Hearne

A collection of short stories, some humorous, some dark, some sentimental, but all intriguing.

I have picked a sample of stories to showcase this work. These include a tale of a young writer who wakes up in Vegas and recalls an encounter with a beautiful woman, he met the night before. The second story concerns a young musician hitch-hiking into Nashville, with brief insights into why he left home. The third story is set in a small town in Ireland and portrays the difficulty a man has telling his wife about his mental problems. The fourth story is set in New York, and follows a woman on her way to another big meeting, with a revealing insight into her past at the end. The fifth is a story about a chance encoutner between a day-dreaming Irish writer and an American War Veteran, set to the beat of jazz.

James, Really, really excellend start to your book. I was drawn in straight away. You describe the action very well and use words sparingly but effectively. I have very little negative remarks as the writing is so good. Also I want to know what happened which of course is essential for a thril... view book

Raphael, I just read the first two stories. They are great. Very well structured and good pacing. You have the 'bones' of some excellent work but I agree with some other comments that the flesh is often a little 'scarred.' Maybe English is not your first language? If not then I would suggest a go... view book

Ian, I read a few chapters and really liked it. You add some great wit and have developed a well rounded character in Nick. I also love the way I'm feeling on edge reading it. This is done very well. The reader will certainly feel Nick's stress levels increasing! You also really know your to... view book

Laurence, As promised here is my return review. First off, I'm not a big fan of this genre so I will keep my comments to the style and pacing. You do have a very good way with words. The opening sequence is described brilliantly. It really pulls the reader in and straight away you want to con... view book

E.J. Really liked the opening two chapters. Love the pacing and you write effortlessly mixing the plot with some really great description. I also like that the chapters are short and you leave us with a reason to read the next one each time. SIgn of a commercial book. Agree with some of the c... view book
