about me

I am a twenty something with a passion for writing. It is something which I feel compelled to do and published or not, I feel like I will do it my whole life regardless because I enjoy it.

I love fantasy novels. I fell in love with the genre after reading the works of Tolkein as a child and as an adult I like to read David Gemmell's heroic fantasy novels.
I am hoping that this community will enable me to grow as a writer and help improve my work.

I have just moved to Canada from Glasgow with my soon to be wife, we are getting married on the 21st of July, and so I have been really busy and as a result I have neglected my writing but hopefully I can dive back into it soon.

My proposed novel Warden of the Neathefade is the first in what would hopefully become a series of novels set within the same fantasy world.

I have joined this site in the hope of receiving some good advice and feedback from the community.

Charles Allan Cox

A man must rise to claim a long forgotten power or watch as the daemonic Fomoiri destroy everything he loves.

For centuries the daemonic Fomoiri have been trapped within the Neatherfade, an ethereal realm of spirits and shadows and now approaches the hour of their ascension. The only hope for the world of mortals is a cowardly human in whose veins pulses the blood of the Warden of the Netherfade.

Hi Jim, As a fellow fantasy fan I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your opening chapter. It revealed a world full of mystery and fleshed out characters. I can see why this ms has such a high rating. I shall add it to my wishlist and work my way through it. Good work :) Charlie view book

Hi Ted, I am a huge fantasy fan so felt more than comfortable reading this. I think you write very well and it is obvious that you have spent of lot of time building this world of yours and it shows in your writing. Highly starred. Once thing which I could not help but notice is that I have a ... view book

Hey Janet, What an amazing pitch, if my own was even half as good and attention grabbing I would be overjoyed. Instantly I imagine a bleak and gritty western in the style of the film Unforgiven and that was enough to make me want to read it. The first chapter is brilliant and had me hooked ri... view book

Hey Cara, My this is good. I have read the prologue and first chapter so far but time willing I will give the rest a read too and let you know what I think. I can instantly tell that you have put a lot of work and thought into this world you have created (which you need to if you plan to write 9 ... view book

Hey Scott, I was really impressed by your MS. I dont read much sci-fi but this was really good. Reminded me slightly of Philip K. Dick's work although in your own style which was dark yet with a touch of comedy which I liked. The first two paragraphs or so form a prologue which helped catch my at... view book
