about me

I am discovering new things about myself on a daily basis, it seems. One of the things that may shed a little light on my purpose in writing is this: I have asperger's and my brother has autism. Unlike most people diagnosed with this disorder, I see things in terms of written words. I have great difficulty forming visual images in my head. I have a unique talent for turning my emotions into words, but I have a difficult time understanding how others may feel when they read my words. I value your honest opinion on my work.

I didn't tell anyone that I was asperger's when I first joined because I wanted to see if my book really had a chance. I am now trying to delve deeper into the missing components that will make my book a success. This is a very personal experience for me. In a way I am telling my own story. Some people have made comments on how Jayden thinks. That is because I have always thought in just such a fashion. For as long as I can remember, from childhood on. So, in essence, it is my personal experience I am trying to convey. And my personal beliefs. I just chose to use fiction to do it.

I also have a brother who has autism. Some of the aspects of Jayden's character come from him. Between the two of us, we have had some heartbreaking experiences. None of which I want to go into right now. Just know that it has affected the voice I project in my writing. As does my faith in God.

Tears in Heaven

Tina Burton

Jayden talks to God and plays with the angels. He wants to know why God is so sad. Are there really tears in heaven?

Jayden sparks was diagnosed with autism when he was three years old. He struggles to deal with the world around him. When things get tough he talks to God. He escapes into an unseen world where he renews his strength and learns more about God's heaven. Then he comes back and paints magnificent pictures that capture the essence of who God is. His goal is to teach people that God loves them and that he she shed's tears for them.

His mother struggles to deal with his diagnosis until she meets Chelsea, a counselor at the center where Jayden was dianosed. She also has a son with autism. Together they create a branch of the autism support group in thier local area. Then a catastrophe happens that shakes up the whole town, especially Chelsea and her family.

Jayden comes up with suprising solutions to difficult circumstances. He will have you laughing and crying all at the same time. Come and experience the world through his eyes, and you will understand why he says that there are tears in heaven.

It's been a year since i could look at this. I just wanted you to know that you did nothing to encourage me at all. I am sure you could have said something positive. You tore me down at a time in my life that I was not prepared for the devestation and impact it would have on me. I just thought m... view book

I will be upfront with you. This has been a very long day for me. I was gone all day, and I don't tolerate that easily. So, I have read some of your story. I will have to finish it later, though. I am exhausted. I agree with TDonna's astute assessment of your story, so far. The beauty in the word... view book

There are some great things about this story. First, writing in first person really pulls the reader into the story and makes it very easy to relate to the character who is narrating the events that are taking place. You do a great job pulling us into a time period that could be boring consideri... view book

This is a delightful fantasy story that could really open the eyes of young people to the plight of those who are different. I was hooked from the start. The characters have thier own unique aspects about them that make them easy to relate to. You have done a great job pacing the story to keep the r... view book

I am finally feeling better so here is the review I promised you. First person present tense is not an easy pov to write in at all, but you have done a wonderful job of using it to pull me into the story. I can easily understand how both of your main characters are thinking and feeling. I lik... view book
