about me

Was it a joke when asked, "Would you like to take a two month early retirement"? After 50 years working my butt off, and 30% of all I sweated for in taxes, ripped from me every week in that 50 long years. Laughing 30 seconds later as I ran escaping through the front door. I proceeded to get off the enriched cultured bus as fast as I could, and fled from England, to a little fishing village in The Algarve Portugal 2005. I am artist, poet.
The dancers are a painting by me. oils on canvas 100 cm x 70 cm My book cover is a detail from an acrylic by me 100 cm x 70 cm.

If I read your book I will NOT skim through the first three paragraphs like a wasp on steroids, then leave you a load of bull, most copied from previous comments. I will read at least 5 chapters and probably all you have posted. And then leave a proper comment. If your book is better than any on my shelf then I will exchange one for yours.

Many of the authors who ask me for reads say on their page "I do not respond to request for reads" I suggest they think on "What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander" Or do they think they are special, and this of course does not apply to them. In short it's okay for them to ask but not others.

JUST SMALL WORDS

Philip Allsop.

Every day poetry, small words for thought, no gobbly gook or pretense, just how it is, a sadness or a smile.

Written over many years, and like many people, words and thought flow in till they push you, and must be written down. It seems that poetry is not popular in today's World of haste and instant coffee, no time to just sit a while and read the thoughts of someone else who found a precious hour or two. Written with no pretense, but plainly without flash gobbly gook, in plain English for thought and full understanding.

I have stopped at chapter 10 to leave comments, knowing I will have to carry on to read all posted of this excellent well thought out book. May I suggest, chapter 3 end of para 2 the word choreographing is tongue twisting, instead, which danced bronze and russet leaves along the footpath. There ... view book

I cannot remember now the last time I did the lottery, well over five years at least, why? because I was terrified to win the jackpot, knowing I could not handle that kind of money. I read all eight chapters, of course how could one not read on to the end, a very good story line, and I am sure so m... view book

I have stopped reading at chapter 18 to leave what I know will be the same comments when, not if, but when I read through to the last word on chapter 52. An amazing work, fact is stranger than fiction it is said, and so this book proves those words. I have no time to say more, need to carry on read... view book

My apology for the time lapse in commenting on your book, but found I had to read all posted which has taken up all my reading time over the last few days, which was not a chore but a pleasure. I found it quite an amazing ride into the past, and do not regret one minute used. This next bit I hate d... view book

I am late commenting on this book because I wanted to read all that was posted first, unlike most books I read, and then quickly go without leaving a footprint, this is one of the few exceptional which takes full attention, in short it's quality writing with great attention to the inside thinking an... view book
