about me

I have been writing and researching the business of writing for over 5 years now. I love the fantasy genre because there really are no limits to where you can take the reader. Writing books is more than just a hobby; it is a way of life for me. Even if I was told nothing I wrote would ever sell, I still wouldn't quit writing. You don't give up on something you love, and creating stories is my greatest love.

**The newly revised draft of my book is now available!
***I would LOVE any feedback/advice! Thanks, and I appreciate it! :)

When Nothing Happens at School....

Kristen Lusk

Bullied for three years, a high school boy brings a gun into school to seek revenge on a classmate.

After years of being teased by a bully, a young man brings a gun into his school. This book highlights the motivation behind each character’s actions, gives readers an inside look of the hostages in the school, and follows the protagonist as he desperately searches for a way out of the situation he created. In the past year, the news has covered countless stories of school violence and suicides due to bullying. In most cases, these stories end badly, but with my book, readers will be pleasantly surprised to find a happy ending. The protagonist is a young man who loses his first love, friends, and social life due to a false rumor spread by a new boy at school. After three years of being bullied, the boy realizes he will always be overshadowed by the rumor so he decides to take matters into his own hands. Quickly, his plot begins to unravel. When the boy’s ex-girlfriend unknowingly interrupts his plans, the fact that she is a witness and cannot be set free presents the first of his problems.

The Keeper

Kristen Lusk

A book of magic, action, and love, The Keeper follows three best friends as they fight to survive after obtaining powers from a magic jewel.

In The Keeper, the first fantasy novel of a projected series, eighteen-year-old Meg Callahan and her friends, Emma and Vivian, have one goal: stay alive.

During a college party, Meg discovers a mysterious jewel in the woods. Ignoring Emma’s pleading, Meg takes the jewel; it is a decision that changes the girls’ lives forever. Soon, the three friends learn the jewel contains enormous power, and they aren’t the only ones who know about it. Through muddled visions, Meg leads the girls to Olivia Nathaniel and the Council of Good, an organization created to defend others with magic potential.

Things grow complicated when the girls return to college. With so many unfamiliar faces around, suspicion sets in, and the girls wonder who they can really trust. After a close encounter, they retreat to the Council in hopes of improving their skills. Not only do they gain knowledge about their abilities; the girls also gain the attention of members who have ulterior motives.

Hey Lela! Your story sounds authentic, and the dialogue seems fitting for the time your setting takes place. I found it really interesting how freely Maryn and Deryk spoke about second marriages. I felt sorry for Maryn when he explained how he had truly loved his first wife, and her death was unfort... view book

Hey I just finished Chapter 1, and I'm really enjoying your book so far! It's an easy read, and your story flows smoothly. :) Other than a few grammatical errors, I believe you are on the right track and have the makings of a bestseller story. The only suggestion I have would be to make sure ther... view book

Hey Chipper! I really enjoyed this biography! The facts are very interesting, and you present the information smoothly with great transitions. The only concern I had while reading was a few paragraph/story repetitions, but that is easily fixable. A suggestion: maybe you can have a chapter title... view book

Hey Melissa, I just finished reading the Prologue and Chapter One of NOT SO SWEET SIXTEEN. Your characters have great voices, and they are each unique in their own way. I really liked that part of your book. From what I gather, Eliza is the 'thinker'. She plans in advance and considers the effect... view book
